“Good value for money”

The hotel is located on a hill in a residential neighborhood. Parking was luckily never a problem for us. You need a car. The hotel is a bit older, but is very clean. We didn't use the swimming pool.
We booked a room for 3 people and only got towels for 2 (we didn't complain because we also brought our own.) Room was spacious and clean. The mattresses were good.
Breakfast was very very extensive. I think we never had that much choice in another hotel.
Staff is very friendly and speaks English.

A friend suggested us to visit Wuppertal for a weekend. It turns out to be a great weekend for us.

We booked this hotel at the last minutes. We payed 90Euro for 2 nights with breakfast. The room was good enough for us. It is very clean even though it is an old hotel. The first day we spend our day at the city. We drove and park our car at free Zoo Car Park and took the hanging train to the city. This was suggested by the girl at the reception who was very helpful.

Good things about the hotel are:
- Location on the hill, its quite.. and we like it.
- Nice, clean swimming pool. Not many ppl, so we had the swimming pool all to ourselves.
- The outdoor and indoor spa.. I really enjoy the infra-red spa.
- Lovely buffet breakfast (the scramble egg is a must try..), nice bread.

The disadvantages:
- Location, not in the city area. You need a car to come here.
- My husband was complaining about the uncomfortable bed. (I had no issue with it.)
- The hotel room is not sound proof.. you can basically hear noises outside your room. We are lucky that we were only disturbed once in the morning by noises.

The next day we went and visit Wuppertal Zoo. It was just about 8 minutes drive from the hotel. I've been to a couple of zoo and I must say that this is one of the nicest zoo I've visited. Beautiful zoo, I must say.. if you are in the are, you should give it a visit.. only 8E per entry for adults.

Oh yeah, we also had our dinner at the hotel. To us it was average, the appetizer that we order was delicious but the main course was a bit disappointing. But we had a great time and this hotel and would stay here again if we are coming for a weekend.

Stayed here during the World Cup, in June 2006. We found this to be an excellent hotel with comfortable rooms, good food and very helpful staff.

You'll need a car as it's location is not suited to public transport.

Would definitely go back again.
