Very family friendly hotel. Family run . They close the front desk at 7 pm so if you check in after that they have a key box where toucan retrieve your key. The family rooms are giant. Ours had three separate rooms with one double bed and three singles. Our friends had suite 200/201 which was two levels with two doubles and a single.
They paid 130 E for a family of 4 with breakfast and we paid 150 E for a family of 5.
This was one of the nicest (large, clean, friendly, well-appointed) hotels we have stayed in while in France, Belgium or Germany.
Great value.

I stayed at this hotel with my 2 sons on a wonderful vacation.
It's only a 15 minute walk, or so, from downtown Landstuhl, with its Restaurants and Pubs.
There is a public outdoor pool across the street as well as a Spa.
We could not have been happier with the owners and the service.
The rooms are spotless and the beds fantastic. Breakfast was the best I have had in my many years of traveling (I used to be a tour guide).
A great location for day trips at a reasonable price.
We will be back.

It is our 2nd time this year that we have stayed at the above hotel, due to the great experience we had the 1st time. Upon arrival Pia recognise us despite the fact that the last time we stayed was way back in May 2013.

The hotel is fantastic value for money, very clean and the owners are extremely helpful and friendly. Once we had taken our case to the room, we went for a coffee and Pia offered us a few slices of her home made apple cake at no cost. Not often that a hotel would do something like that. Room very clean and airy, free internet access for the duration of the stay. Very good buffet breakfast with a good array of cut meats, cheeses, breads, teas & coffees. Would highly recommend this hotel as an over night stay en route to further destination.

I booked for 4 nights, but could only hang 1, we had a room facing the back, in addition to the train, which I can handle, there was a loud siren that went off every 15 minutes or so, it was loud enough to prevent me and my husband from getting any sleep, it was jolting.
However, I must say the staff- family is very nice, I felt bad I had to go. The rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is also well thought out and lovely. Too bad we had that noise. Maybe it was an isolated incident but we couldn't take a chance. No elevator, English speaking staff. Limited parking, no AC. Rooms on the 3rd (by American standards) floor. 20 minute straight shot walk to center of town. Next door to 2 restaurants.

We stayed at Landhaus Schattner for 1 night after a vacation in Prague/Krakow/Budapest. What a lovely little hotel, ideally located, welcoming, superb rooms and facilities. The overnight stay was made even more pleasant thanks to the charming couple who own/run the hotel. Rooms are excellent, large, Wifi in every room, very comfortable beds. Very good and extensive buffet breakfast, extremely good rates. Will stay there again, when we are next in the area. Highly recommend as an overnight stay, or longer if staying in the area.

Being used to American numbering, 148 KaiserStrasse (main street) sounded like heart of downtown... actually to be the 148th building takes a couple of kilometers out of town. So it is a walk. Limited services locally, the hotel is not a gausthouse, so no beer nor dinner there... just the breakfast. there is a pizza place nearby on one side, and a grocery store a block down (much cheaper than buying from the hotel).

The rooms are large and airy, modern (flat screen TV) and more than usual English satelite channels -- BBC 1 & 2 and some movie channels. Free internet. Good Breakfast.

I found better price deals for our family in the area and would only recommend this hotel if you have a car of your own. No elevator.

Room Tip: No elevator.

(They have automated check in after 1pm on Sunday)
Very helpful and considerate. Wonderful place.
Our first time for hot soft boiled eggs. Perfect and a great change for us.
Facilities are immaculate, service great and Pia speaks great English.
Highly recommend it.
