Restaurant was fairly quiet for a Friday night night due to the cold June weather. However, we were warmly greeted by the owner (?) and shown to a comfortable table. Augustis is just off the Rhinw walkway so you get a view of the old Rhine paddle steamer moored om the riverbank.
Menu includes a number of traditional German dishes but executed in a modern way. I had a consomme as a starter which was OK, followed by very good calves liver. My wife had a simple steak, which she enjoyed. We had an excellent bottle of Spātburgunder (Pinot Noir) to accompany our meal. Whilst both restaurants are very good, we actually, on balance slightly preferred Da Vinci but would visit Augustus again very happily too.
