Spent a long weekend here and we were very pleased with the hotel, nice breakfast, pleasant staff and close to the main railway station trams and buses. The centre of the city is a 15 minute stroll away as is the river. Rooms were large and comfortable and the bathrooms very clean.

We have enjoyed two quiet nights and enjoyed a fresh and tasty breakfast.
The hotel is very central and still quiet.
We have met young Japaneses and older German guests, all satisfied and ready to come again.
The air condition worked all night very quiet and the Internet connection was perfect.
Do not miss the dinner by Anna : the neighbor restaurant.

Room Tip: every couple of rooms are at a separate half flour with a separate corridor which gives a feeling of...

Stayed 5 nights site-seeing Mainz - just across the Platz from the rail station but still very quiet due to double-glazed windows - we stayed in room 308 - air conditioning was very good (you have to ask the desk to "unlock" it first). WIFI was very good. NIce breakfast (meats, rolls, etc.). Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are smallish but fine for two people - beds got a bit hard by then end of our stay. This is an older hotel - but everything was clean - in good working order and the location is great! Would not hesitate to stay here again .

We had one evening in Mainz before boarding train to Switzerland. We had a rental car in Germany so needed a location to drop off the car the evening before our departure (save 1 day rental) . Hotel Koenigshoff fit the bill as it is just across a plaza from the train station and Eurocar drop off was handled in the train station. This is an older building but our room was clean.
Only negative was getting in and out of shower as it was a step up of almost 12 inches. Getting in wasn't a problem but getting out was a challenge as the shower floor was slippery and there was no grab rail to offer stability. Maybe if I were younger it would not have been an issue.
Breakfast was filling and lots of selection. From look of other guests this looks like a businessman's hotel.

Front desk did offer a restaurant suggestion, Proviantmagazin on Schillerstr. 11, 55116
Good food large selection

This hotel is very well located if you are travelling by train - just come out of the station, cross the road and you're there. Of course the flip side is that it's a fair way from the city centre, which is 15-20mins walk.

The hotel was fine, though my room was quite small and the bed wasn't particularly comfortable (the mattress was too soft). The staff were mostly OK, but one of the hotel receptionists initially refused to give me my key on coming back to the hotel as it seemed she didn't believe I was staying there! I'm glad they take security seriously, but this sort of situation could be avoided by providing plastic key cards.

There is a very nice Italian restaurant, 'Calabria', in the same street (turn left on leaving the hotel). Apart from that, most of the eating options in the immediate area are fast food takeaways.

I really suggest to avoid this hotel.
The rooms are full of dust, filled with smokey smell. Also, crowds of drunk people was disturbing our sleeping at 4 am all nights, right below our window.
In my experience, the staff has been so unpleasant: they didn't even consider helping me after asking some favours, and they have been really unpolite.
Avoid this awful place!

Here we are again for our fourth trip and as good as ever

On arrival we re known so well this time we were given treats - not for us but to feed the dog! He is just a beauty . The staff also know us well and welcome us like old friends

Clean , friendly and a good sleep - why would we want more?

Room Tip: Not on the fro t of the street
