We stayed here some 18 months ago, during our tour of Germany, and what concerns me is the lack of postings on the beautiful little hotel. On reflection it was probably the best of the hotels that we stayed in. I marked this hotel at 5 simply because of the service and welcome. The gardens outside the breakfast and bar food inside were unequalled on our tour.
Nobody on our trip had a complaint , it was indeed a joy to be a wanted guest.
Our room was comfortable and considering the nearby railway we were not disturbed. First class for us, why not for others ?

Good service, loved the fact that the minibar actually had very good wines from Schloss Johannisberg and the room had a roomy terrace/ veranda. Spacious room, bit outdated bathroom but clean, very good breakfast and good dinner food (outside on the terrace). Quiet and lovely park like surroundings.

No A/C like normal German hotel but the fan in my room didn't work in the heat of summer. Bed was comfy, bathroom outdated, room outdated as far as furnishings. The grounds are amazing, there is an indoor pool, sauna and roof top jacuzzi that I loved. The birds and animals and aquarium are a definate plus. The beer garden was great, gotta have a pretzel and beer in germany. Walking distance to the downtown shopping, in the middle of the central park, and right across from the river. I had a great stay and the staff was very helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a newer room, the 2nd/1st floor is very old and outdated.

Had to visit Mainz because of a meeting. I always prefer off-center quite locations. The hotel is very nice, with spacious public areas. it is located in a green area, very close to the river. It has a friendly staff, large and clean rooms, with a pleasant view (even from my room that faced the street, the other side should be even better). Breakfast was very good.

Certainly worth the money spent. I will be back to Mainz (work) and to this hotel.

The only downside was the shower that was part of the room, with no door separating it from the room and with a window to connect it to the room. This does not allow efficient heating of the bathroom, despite the IR rich lamp they have there. it is a bad design but one can live with it.

Room Tip: Off center, I would go there only with a car.

On arrival at the Faborite Parkhotel in Mainz the greeting at reception was at best perfunctory. We were directed to our room- up 8 steps, along a corridor through two sets of double doors - over a bridge, find a lift and ascend one floor - find the room.
As I opened the room food a blast of heat hit us - it was impossible to get good ventilation and keep the curtains closed.
At dinner as we finished our main course and asked to see the desert menu we were told none was possible as the kitchen was closed - well it was 9:30!! - the dinner bill for 2 still came to 96 Euros.
We asked about Internet access and were invited to buy 24 hour access as an extra.
I have stayed in worse hotels - but not many.

Visited late June with a Titan group, nice friendly hotel, clean, with friendly staff. Room large, with a pleasant view. Only downsides were the light penetrating curtains, and the noisy trains. Dinner was good and plentiful, we took the cheap option of the bar menu which was well presented. Seven of us enjoyed the evening, and were visited by the owner of the hotel, who made us feel very welcome. The large aquariums were most interesting. In summary, excellent.

Family owned and managed. Definitely a modern feel to to this place. Beautifully appointed and investment lavished on it. Bedroom was very comfortable with a view over the park to the River Rhine. Quiet location? Well...the downside is that although it is in a park it is within a couple of hundred yards from the rail line which did tend to be a bit noisy at night. Take some ear plugs. Dining areas are delightful as is the Biergarten out back. Town centre is a 15 minute stroll and worth a visit.
