I do understand that medieval manuscripts and early printed books aren't on everyone's list of "must see" items. If they are, this is a must, must stop. The Stadtbibliothek has a superb collection that includes a Gutenberg bible, marvelous old terrestrial and heavenly globes, and my favorite .. the Edgar Codex. It is one of the most stunning manuscripts I've seen. Beautifully illuminated in colors that seem to be specific to the region. Excellent and very helpful staff. Over the years, I've been here twice. I'd highly recommend stopping in --- it is not far from the Basilica Constantine.
