Visit Chemnitz for business about once a year. Except once, always stay at Penta. This hotel is just very pleasant. Decor is light and nice. Rooms are good and spacious for European standards. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is excellent. Has a gym, not huge, but having everything you need for a workout. Rate is very reasonable. In summary, have nothing negative to say about this hotel, great value for money. Well, maybe a few minor things: wifi comes at a cost, but that is so common in Europe (but rate is low here); TV in Germany always is a pain with their dubbed movies and sitcoms; having a few more English language channels would be nice.
Additional positive point, hotel always seems to be pretty quiet; a relaxing place when traveling on a hectic schedule.
Area is very nice too. Just down the street there is an old section of Chemnitz, cobblestone streets, old church and most important of all, at least three traditional German restaurants for a nice dinner. Walk a block the other way and you are at a large park; great place for a run.
Will back next time.

A major problem of many German hotels (and shops, and apartments and offices) is the lack of a A/C in the guest rooms. Since the summers in Germany of the last decade are getting hotter and hotter this can mean a night without sleep, because the room is hot like a oven. But not in the pentahotel Chemnitz: The A/C was working perfectly and made the difference for me! Another big plus point is the garage on the lowest floor with direct elevator access to the lobby and to the room floors. I liked the location of the hotel in a quiet idyllic neighbourhood. There is a lake down the road where I went for nice evening jogging. There are plenty of atmospheric restaurant nearby in walking distance - I went twice to the "Kellerhaus" down the hill and I loved it. The hotel staff was very friendly and professional. There is a bar where you can order also late at night something to drink. Overall a perfect 2 night stay!

A good location if you want to visit the city's of Dresden and Leipzig. You can buy a Sachenticket and travel by train from 9.00 a.m in the morning until 3.00 (after midnight) the next day and this only costs 32.00 euro for 4 people. You pay 21.00 euro for the ticket and for every person that travels on it 3.00 euro each. The Pentahotel is a nice looking business hotel with spacious clean rooms and very well equiped bathrooms. The breakfast in the morning is very good with plenty of choice. A delicious fresh fruit salad! There are also free city bikes for the guests to use. You can park your car in the garage or for free along the road.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel because in the front there is a lot of traffic noise in the...

Having arrived at the Hauptbahnhof late in the evening, it was a surprisingly long taxi ride to the hotel. In a quiet residential area, this hotel is quite modern - almost a little out of place near the church and slightly older houses.

Staff pleasant and helpful. I would like to try a hotel more in the centre just to be sure this was one of the best in the area. I would rate it higher if it had some character.

Stayed here for 3 nights while at the nearby Motgp. The Hotel is located in a residential area. Good reception staff, large underground car park and plenty of free parking nearby. Quite a large hotel which was full but apart from early evenings the place didnt seem crowded. Rooms are pretty good, if a bit plain though. Breakfast was good and service in the bar area was generally pretty quick. The leisure facilities are again of a good standard, the pool area was clean and staff helpful. Did not experience the evening restaurant because there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. The Beerkellar in town is worth a visit.

We stayed here for one night on a Germany trip on our way from Bavaria to the airport. The hotel is located in the Schlossberg neighborhood of Chemnitz and is only a few minutes away from a few parks and restaurants. We were four travelers and stayed in an air-conditioned suite on the top floor that was relatively reasonably priced (~100 Euros/night without breakfast). The staff spoke English and were generally helpful. The suite was split-level with a staircase connecting living/sleeping quarters which is certainly hip but didn't really help functionality of the room. The suite also had access outside seating on the hotel roof. The hotel has a parking garage that costs 9 Euros a day for hotel guests. The air-conditioning was very appreciated as most hotels in Germany do not seem to have AC which really can be an issues in the summer months. When we stayed the hotel restaurant was closed for renovation so we had dinner at the bar which served mostly American-style food (burgers, steaks, club sandwiches, etc.). Overall value for money was fair.

For those expecting a Travel lodge experience, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The hotel is situated near a large park in a quiet area of Chemnitz. A 5 min walk sees one reach 3 small pubs, all of which serve appetizing German/French food at reasonable prices.

The hotel rooms are spacious and the fitness centre very good. There was free parking in front of the hotel, but this tended to get filled very fast, leaving the option of parking on the street in front or using the paid underground parking.

The best thing about the hotel were it's breakfasts. A wide variety of sumptuous food was available till 11am every day but best of all, stretched till 2pm on Sundays! Weekends also saw an addition of lunch fare, turning the event into a proper brunch at no extra cost. We certainly enjoyed the lie in!
