A stunning and jaw dropping display of precious objects organised into rooms. Get there early to book your ticket for a predetermined time slot. We managed to get a 10.00am ticket after queuing for 40 minutes and were able to view the displays in our own time without crowds of people in front of the cabinets and tables.

In spite of what some have said about the staff, we found them polite but with German efficiency and punctuality / orderliness. But expect to have to check any bag, purse or whatever you have on your external person NO MATTER what the size - all things have to be checked but they provide lockable lockers that yield a key with a Euro coin. The Treasury is as you would expect with beautiful, rich displays of jewelry, collection items, serving pieces, and specialty rooms like one of all amber, one of ivory , etc. Takes about an hour to go through the nine rooms of the Historical Green Vault and perhaps another hour to two hours to go through the other small museums on the grounds. Small groups are fed in every 30 min. apart so no real feeling of being crowded and no push to get you through beyond your own pace. Audio guides also come with the price of the ticket that we found helpful if sometimes rather long-winded on explanations. But the displays are impressive and memorable - a major thing to do in dresden.

Just in case you were assuming it would! Still, gotta see that one. The New Green Vault is included, just not the historical rooms with their eye-boggling and unique collections of princely bric-a-brac, which admit only a few people at at time: thank heavens. That means one can see and listen to the guide at leisure.

It was the third time i visited this place (together with the other parts of this huge Museum like the Turkish chamber). I regularly remain thrilled by all this craftmansship and Beauty, everytime you discover something you missed the visit before. One of the absolut highlights of a visit in Dresden.
