The church is really beautiful and simple on the inside as it was reconstructed many times. Don't miss the photo collection at the entrance, interesting and impressive.

Thank MTorre

For someone who is not religious I always enjoy visiting churches for their architecture and style. This one is special! It was destroyed in WWII, and during the Communist regime wasn't allowed to be properly rebuilt, so it was rebuilt using the most plain materials possible. There are a few parts you can see are original, but for the most part you can see it was rebuilt and they have kept it that way to show the modern history of the building.

The only negative is they don't allow any pictures inside to make you buy some postcards in their shop. I'd happily have paid a few euros to take my own photos as the church itself looks fascinating on the inside.

Visited to listen to the wonderful organ music, it only lasted for 15 minutes but it was superb and is well worth a visit. Check when it is on as its not every day.

This church is different from most of the ornate churches we saw, it is much plainer. Like most of Dresden, it was destroyed in the bombing, and rebuilt. The baroque church has a rich history going back 800 years, but this building's origin dates to 225 years back. The tower is open for a small fee and gives one a great view of the city. The church is located at the Old Market square.

We were privileged to arrive in time for the Saturday vespers where the choir sang. What joy to sit in this beautiful church and listen to the beautiful music. The interior is very plain but that contributes to the experience.
