“Excellent hotel in perfect location.”

Dresden is a small town and everything is easy walking distance. The Swissotel is an easy walk straight from the train station and is in the midst of the old town.
The staff are professional and friendly and checkin was a breeze.
The room had plenty of room and good light from two big windows. It had two comfortable chairs and a table which made for a nice place to have a relaxing light dinner while watching tv one night. The tv had sky movie channels in english as well as the usual news programs.
The bed in the middle of the room was big and comfortable and the pillow menu was a great addition. There was also a nespresso coffee machine, free water each day and free wifi in the room included.
It was a lovely hotel and we would have loved to stay longer.

What a delight! Highest marks go to the staff at the reception desk. Unfailingly friendly, they went out of their way to assist us. My husband became ill and we needed assistance to find a pharmacy, receive doctors' prescriptions, and obtain specialty food. Every request was met with great care, friendliness and efficiency. Whatever it was we needed we received.

The location, as others have said, cannot be beat. Dresden Old Town is tiny and this hotel is in the midst of it. You can saunter everywhere. There is a wonderful jogging route right out of the hotel, across the bridge, and on the banks of the river. I thought breakfast was to expensive, but there are coffee shops and bakeries right next door so there's no need to use the hotel restaurant.

The hotel is very new and exceedingly clean. It even still smells new! The rooms are good sized, but beware: the shower and toilet are in cubicles within the room itself (you can walk around them), and the sinks are open to the room as well. That's a bit unusual, but I liked it. Free nespresso coffee as well as tea and a fridge. The lighting is excellent - something lacking in most hotels. Bedding is wonderful, linen new and fresh. And the price was quite reasonable.

All in all, an outstanding experience.

let's start explaining that I've been in nicer waiting rooms at the dentist. This is, after all, Swiss. There is very little cosiness.
That said, this hotel was wonderful, a truly 5 stars experience. Rooms are generous, perfectly supplied with everything to ensure a stress free stay, and the location is unbeatable. Some reviewers mentioned that it is at walking distance from the main attractions. That is actually too far away. This hotel is right there with the main attractions, so you can be having dinner and quickly walk to your room to pick up that camera you forgot, and then continue eating... don't ask how I know!
The one thing that I didn't expect was how nice and attentive were the receptionists. After check-in the girl showed us to the room and took a few minutes to explain all the controls, breakfast times and so on. Very nice. Since I didn't make the reservation myself I was surprised that it cost not much more than other, much lesser places I stayed. Nice again!

This hotel recently opened in April 2012. it is gorgeous with large, spacious rooms, and a lovely lobby.

The rooms were very well appointed, very comfortable, clean and modern. They had lots of space, and nespresso machines!

The staff was super friendly and even showed me to the room and explained how various things work (coffee machine, lights for example)

The breakfast was fantastic (German style) and had a wide selection with very good service.

Also, the location in Dresden's old town made it a great location for sightseeing, touring, and shopping. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed in Swissotel Dresden for the second time while on business trip to this beautiful city.

Perhaps because i have registered into the Swissotel circle program, the hotel knew my birthday. That evening when i returned, i was surprised to see a nice cake and a birthday card being placed in my room! I am touched by the nice thought...

I have stayed in other well established hotels in Dresden over the last 2 years. I personally feel that the service level in Swissotel is probably the best. When i checked in late at night, the receptionist showed me to the room personally, very attentive service!

Staff at the restaurant (breakfast) are friendly and attentive too. Good variety of choices for breakfast too. In the room, there is a Nespresso coffee maker with different capsules provided, very nice!

The little setback is that the in-room wifi can be weak at times; but i borrowed the WAN cable from the front desk and everything worked well!

I am definitely going to stay here again!

There are good Swiss hotels and certainly really bad ones, like the awful one in basel, Switzerland. This new Swiss hotel in dresden is really first rate. Perfect location, within walking distance of most of the important museums and in the historic old town, this place is a gem. It has been open for about a year. Everything is clean and new and it all works...quiet, comfortable, new bedding and bathrooms. The very young staff at the front desk is exceptional. They are professional, intelligent, and have excellent english language skills and are very helpful. This hotel must have an excellent management staff to have so successfully trained this really first rate group of young employees. I can't say enough about their perfect manners and poised sophistication.
I can't imagine there is a better hotel in dresden. This is not a plush, fancy hotel. It is clean comfortable, straight forward and authentic feeling. Very very good.

Room Tip: The rooms on the inner courtyard are very quiet...
