Found this hotel by driving thru Dresden and saw sign . Neat, tidy and staff pleasant .bit away from the main city but as we were passing thru ,ok. Decided to stay 2 days and see a bit of Dresden ..bus and tram connection good and neighbourhood quiet .breakfast was ok ,room was pleasant enough and very clean . Reasonable value for money

Nice, small family hotel in the northern part of Dresden. All rooms are the same size. Nice king size bed, TV (mostly German channels). There is free internet access, The bathroom is small, but OK.The only problem is access to the shower is narrow because of a glass wall.
The breakfast buffet is plenty, but the scrambled eggs were to dry and with no bacon or sausages on the side.
The evening meals is a 3 course dinner with different German themes.
There is a bus close to the hotel. You need to change to a cable car to come to the center of Dresden. Or you could go by taxi, which is about 10 Euros.
We enjoyed a walk around the inner city, where the Frauenkirche (Our Lady's church) is one of the highlights. It was bombed completely February 1945 and was rebuilt and finished about 10 years ago.
Also, we enjoyed the opera Rigoletto at the Semper Opera. The Semper Opera was also rebuilt after being bombed in 1945.
There are a lot of different museums in the inner city, just a short walk away from Frauenkirche and Semper Opera as well as a lot of "Galleries" - which are small malls with lots of restaurants etc. hidden behind regular house facades.

We stayed here for 3 nights.
Reception staff were all friendly and efficient, and spoke good English.
Breakfast was good, staff consisted of a frosty older woman (not receptionist material), and a more helpful and younger man. Breakfast choice was good, and if anything ran out, we just asked, and it was provided.
The rooms were quite OK, reasonably spacious, with a much used mini-fridge.

The 2 things which bugged me were that it was a heatwave, and impossibly hot in my room. There's no aircon, so I had to have windows open, and lots of bugs chose to come in and bite me :-(
I got a fan the next day, but, powerful though it was, I was still too hot.
The worst thing is that there's some sort of industrial unit behind, and the employees got their entertainment by crashing lots of crates around outside between 4.30 & 5am :-(

One last thing, it's helpful to know a bit of German as the helpful maps and public transport details have a little more info on the German versions.
From the hotel it's reasonably easy to get to the city centre, although it involves a bus trip, a shortish wait, and then a tram ride
However, despite all their help and knowledge, the hotel staff didn't know the connecting Tram wasn't working for 2 days while we were there, (there was a replacement bus which was just fine, but the stop wasn't so obvious to find) So if you want to ask a local how to get to town it's very easy if someone just points, but if they give you a long list of directions, have your AA phrasebook handy! Who knows, Section 3/10 could be useful ;-)

Room Tip: Ask for one away from the back of the hotel where the industrial units are
