an 8 minute taxi ride from central station, has a tram station directly in front and the most important sights on both sides of the Elbe river are within easy walking distance. Prices are moderate and the food buffet was really good and had good variety.

We stayed there over a night. Nice experience. A hotel is not new, but clean and good maintained.

Extended breakfast (and crowds of people :))) ) - good variety and quality.

Location is comfortable-in a walking distance from the Old city. Gadage parking is comfortable when travelling by car.

We enjoyed...despite we were stuck in the lift for a while. In general I would recommend this property.

This place is ideal for people traveling in a car. It has an underground garage (€14 per day) that is connected to the lobby and it is close enough to the city center so that one can walk there. For the people on unsure footing there is also a tram connection straight into town. The general areas are nice and spacious and the rooms are well appointed (flat screen tv, hair dryer, wooden paneling, etc). There are a small number of English channels on tv but basically news channels. The bed was two twins combined, but the mattress was comfortable and seemed fairly new. Reception staff was friendly and provided free maps of town and tourist advice. There is a bar in the lobby and restaurant. They also offer 24 hour room service. The Internet connection in the room is free and very fast. The breakfast buffet is pretty pricey (€19 per person) so there are better options in town. Definetely recommended.

Although our visit was as part of a tour, the Dorint appears to be a business/meeting type hotel. That said, a tourist would be quite comfortable. Access to the transportation system is via the Dresden tram system. 4 lines stop immediately in front. Historic Dresden in an easy walk of a few blocks.
Rooms are comfortable and fairly modern. The bath/shower combination is big enough that showers are not exercises in not falling out of the bathtub while showering. Rooms are not air conditioned, but do have a flow of coolish air which keeps them moderately comfortable when temperatures are in the upper 80's. Our request for extra pillows and a fan were quickly met.
Breakfast is a buffet which is well stocked and meets the needs of most travelers. There is a dinner buffet which is not lavish, but provides meat, chicken and fish. A nice selection of small bowls of salad like items provides a good start while a selection of small deserts provides a satisfactory end to the meal. Drinks and coffee are available at extra cost.
The hotel is a comfortable place to stay with easy access to the rest of Dresden.
