My wife and I stayed at the InterCityHotel Dresden to see the U.S. Women's World Cup game versus North Korea. If you are coming by rail, I'm sure the hotel is easy to find since it's right across a pedestrian area from the bahnhof, but by car, locating the hotel is a challenge. There really aren't any cross streets to get to the hotel: there is only a single short street that will get you near the entrance. The hotel did have inexpensive public underground parking right next to it.

The hotel itself was accommodating, modern, and nice. The staff were friendly and courteous and were helpful both in directing us to parking and in describing the city's public transportation. The hotel provides a pass for each guest to use public transportation, which is a nice amenity.

Although our room was facing the station side of the building and I had read reviews that it could get noisy on that side of the building, I found our room quiet--in spite of the activity level of a major soccer event.

Being used to staying at places where breakfast and Internet are comped, we chose not to use either of these services.

Room Tip: Although our station side room was quiet, you might consider getting a room on the opposite side. I...

Very convenient for the Main Train station, opposite, & the Tram stop to the city centre 10 minutes away.
They supply free Tram & Bus passes which is very useful.
Quick check in, had e mailed prior to visit to ask for quiet room, and this was supplied, 118.
Room clean & bright, good size & very good Toilet/Shower. Super Duvet on bed, good Air Conditioning, very quiet, did get a bit warm at night, had to open window.
Did not have Breakfast as quite expensive, €15, but there are plenty of places on Prager Strasse, 4 minutes from hotel.
We liked the “Backerei Bresan Café” on corner of Prager Strasse, next to Asian Quick Food, Breakfast of Coffee, Meats, Cheese, Jam & Bread rolls for less than €4.

We find Intercity hotels to be always a good choice. No surprises. Good beds, clean and excellent location right across from the train station. Breakfast is extra but you can always get a good cheap breakfast at the train station.

I was not looking to be impressed with InterCity Hotel, and they do not try. They work on what they offer, and do what they do well. It is simple, close to the train station (right across the street), and offered all the energy I needed for the day at breakfast. The bathroom was tiny, the bed comfortable, and a couple of the staff and I had difficulty with German/English conversations. Basic questions in English posed a challenge which surprised me, but I realize I am spoiled with how well-versed the world is with English (and how I am not with other languages). The one thing that really annoyed me was that the hotel said that it was sound-proof: well, I could hear the trains softly come in/out; however, the skate-boarders that make the outside cement area their skate-park at dusk to late at night can easily be heard so the windows are certainly not sound-proof. Oh, and, I loved Dresden and could have stayed even another 2 nights. What a fabulous city.

Room Tip: Find a room not facing train station, and not facing where any skate-boarders would be skating at ni...

Not an overly fancy hotel, but very new and nice inside. All very clean, well kept and the staff are nice. Location is great, by the main station at the edge of the Altstadt, so most things are 15 mins walk, but they give you a free transport ticket for anything further.

The rooms are nice and a comfortable size for a few nights stay, but not huge. Good for the price you normally pay, but if you want something fancier there are more expensive options in the Altstadt itself.

we had a 2 night stay at this hotel opposite the station and the tram, the free ticket for the tram was very handy as it is a little walk into town, the hotel was clean and friendly staff, the bedroom was clean but not very big as was the bathroom, the air con did not work properly in our room so was quite a warm stay in august, very good for a short stay in dresden.
