“Good Food with Good Bier”

We went there around 10pm, so could have a table without booking. I recommend non-filtered beer, which is not necessarily available throughout the town.

“Good food in cozy atmosphere”
Reviewed 26 October 2009

After some disappointing dining experiences in Dresden, the Radeberger Spezialausschank was a welcome surprise. Although it mainly caters to tourists - only a minute from the Semper opera house and the Zwinger - the food was well prepared and full of flavor. We ordered the specials of the day - Saxon meat and potatoe dishes - and were very pleasantly surprised as they were not the run of the mill Schnitzel dishes. I can also highly recommend the 'Quarkkäulchen' - Saxon cottage cheese pancakes with cinnamon and whipped cream as a desert. Yummy! In addition, the atmosphere was wonderfully cozy: the wood panelled walls with scenes from early 20th century Dresden gave the place a homely, yet classy atmosphere. Located right at the banks of the Elbe river, we enjoyed watching the boats go by.

“Panoramic Views of the Elbe and Dresden”
Reviewed 4 April 2009

Our very last memories of historical Dresden, full of glorious Baroque architecture, unique treasures and the beautiful Elbe river, was spent at the beautiful and most famous place in the middle in the heart of this bewitching city. The terrace of the Radeberger Spezialausschank is the perfect place to be, in order to experience the magical atmosphere of incomparable Dresden. This upscale café, retains a certain flair, with an overwhelming view of the Elbe on one side, and the dome of the Frauenkirche on the other. We lingered over a wonderful light meal, consisting of Saxonian potato soup, an assorted cheese platter & breads, along with the red house wine & the special Radeberger Pilsner. The atmosphere was outstanding, along with the Saxonian hospitality. From this vantage, you can see the Neustadt Quarter on the opposite riverbank, the Elbe Promenades, the Blockhaus and Hauptstrasse, the Japanese Palace, as well as the the spires of both the Königstrasse and the Dreikönigskirche Church. Absolutely stunning!
