“3 Nights as Tourist”

Hotel is located just across the street from the Central Station 1 block to the right. Enterance/Lobby is small and easy to miss. However the standard double rooms are enourmous with huge windows, sofa, desk, round table, large dresser, small kitchen and large bathroom. Its like an aparthotel room, but with limited kitched utensills/cookware/china. Good size fridge with mini bar to store food. The central station has a mall in it with bakery, cheese shop, deli, juice bar and much more. Easy to pick up cold food for the room. The breakfast was very good with lots of bacon and eggs, coldcuts, and much more, came included in the price making this stay a good value overall.

Room Tip: On side facing Central Station many trams and 4 lanes of traffic make it a little noisy. Ask if ther...

Good central position, easily accessible from main station. We arrived a little early and reception offered to store our luggage and bring it up to our room when ready. We went for lunch at a nearby cafe and when we came back, the receptionist changed our room assignments to ensure we wouldnät have to wait any longer.

Rooms were huge. The single room was more like a studio apartment, the double room actually had separate bedroom and living areas. Cleanliness was fine throughout our stay and with windows closed, the busy ringroad outside was not a issue, particularly because the trams stop running late at night. The full-size fridge came in useful for chilling our drinks. If you are planning to use the kitchen, you might find that you are short of cutlery/plates: we had 1 fork, 3 spoons, 4 coffee cups, 4+ plates, not pots or cooking utensils - maybe they are only made available on request?

Breakfast was adequate although not brilliant and breakfast staff always seemed busy doing something...although maybe not always the most urgent thing. As a result, there were sometimes no cereal bowls, then no sausages/bacon, no orange juice.

Unfortunately we couldn't try the bar which always seemed to be closed although a sign in front of the lift said it would be open after 6 p.m.. My laptop indicated a medium to strong WIFI signal in our room on the 4th floor, but because of incorrect password information posted in the room I gave up on trying to connect (only found upon checkout that information in room had not been updated). Check with reception for correct password if you need to connect.

Overall we like the hotel and would definitely consider it again if using public transport.

Room Tip: rooms ending in ..16 are towards the side/back of the building. rooms facing the atrium have hardly...

The location could not be better - right opposite the Hauptbahnhof and on the edge of the Altstadt.
Our rooms were large and bright and even had a small kitchen, although there was not much in the way of crockery and cutlery. The big windows looked out across to the impressive station.
This is a simple establishment really only providing bed and breakfast, but the rooms and location were more than adequate.
Breakfast was very good in terms of food offered and on the day the apparent manager was present, the buffet was kept replenished. On the days that she was not there it did not work very well. We constantly had to ask for things and tables were not cleared. There was no lack of friendly good will, they just needed training and direction.
The price for our stay was surprisingly low for the location and the room/breakfast offering. Definitely recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the station

It is just across the Leipzig main railway station. All of other Leipzig landmarks including Leipzig University, Thomas Kirche with Bach's grave, the Gewandhouse House, Opernhouse and Nikolai Kirsche are within walking distance. For a family of three we were offered a huge suit including a kitchenette. Room view was not great. The rooms were very clean with a big washroom. The front office was efficient with good knowledge of English. The breakfast spread was excellent and we hand no complaint with its service. The reception lobby was somewhat narrow for the hotel but we could conveniently keep our luggage. Wifi connection was good. This is a great hotel to stay if you club Leipzig with a visit to Berlin and Dresden which are just about 90 minutes away by Intercity express trains. We got a discounted booking and our German friends were floored by the size of the rooms. It was great value for money

I visited the hotel on a leisure trip to Leipzig for two night with my family, wife and two kids (6 and 8 years).

Downside:
• No air-conditioning
• No balcony in our room
• Poor Wi-Fi
Positive:
• Location is great (restaurants, museums, Zoo, shopping all just a few minutes’ walk)
• For a family, room 216 is super. Very big with separate bedroom for the kids and refrigerator and sitting area.
• Room 216 towards the yard so you can open windows without any noise from the street
• Nice breakfast buffet
• Friendly staff

This is not an efficient business hotel so I would never go here to work. You need a bit of patience and for example accept that Wi-Fi most probably only works in the reception etc… As a relaxed tourist with kids it is a very good hotel and I can highly recommend to any family. Very clean and fresh hotel.

Room Tip: For Families room 216 is great!

I stayed in this hotel in June 2013. There were two things that made this hotel unacceptable to me.

1) No air conditioning or any ventilation. This made the room unbearably hot at night and difficult to sleep. I finally opened the windows at 4AM and then is was very noisy because it was right beside a major intersection.
2) Very poor Wifi. For business this is unacceptable. I need to do work and saying you have Wifi when the reception comes and goes all of the time is deceptive.

I will not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone else. Even the lowest budget hotels at least have aircon and reliable Wifi.
