“A piece of France in Germany”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2013

I was living in Leipzig when La Chocolaterie opened for first time. As a francophile, I didn't take long to visit the place. I was surprise by the warm atmosphere and the originial, vintage design of the place. You feel you are at a comfortable, french grandma's house.

Once you get in, a collection of cookies, cakes, pies and other sweet delights catch your attention from the vitirine. They won't deceive you. The hote chocolate was also delicious, and made me forget the cold outside for a while.

The french owners were very lovely and completed a very nice experience. I obviously came back.

Perfect for the breakfast and the snack-tea time, especially in winter days. Don't lose your time if what you want is a soda, that's so typically french that the only soft drink they have is Orangina ;)

“Der Schokoladenhimmel auf Erden”

This tiny cafe is tucked away in a small street of Leipzig (however, close to the main station and the August Platz). And it is one of these spots that you are happy to have discovered as soon as you are there. There are just three or four small tables. But the small vitrine is a treasure trove with self-prepared chocolate candies, cakes, pralins, and macarons. Everything is prepared from the French owners in the kitchen next to the small room where we were sitting. But be aware of the old [-] on the poster above the kitchen door - this lady won't grant admission for us mortals to the kitchen. As for drinks: the hot chocolates comes in tiny mugs, and is the tastiest and most massive chocolate drink I ever had. If you want to enjoy more chocolate: Look at the shelves where you can find among other things Chocolate Beer.
