I stayed 3 nights at Vivaldi during a conference visit. After long flight from Australia and making my way by tram, the woman on reception was like an angel, so welcoming and helpful, earlier check in was great. Very handy location to both Messe and to city (same tram line) for dinner or walking around old city. The room was cosy but very clean, internet good, room was quiet (facing back courtyard) and breakfast great, I would definitely recommend. Just an iron in the hotel would be handy.

Room Tip: rooms at the side away from the street face a quiet market courtyard, so probably quiter than the st...

The first impression was very bad since we were met by terrible cigarette smoke stinking. We tried to change room without success since the hotel was said to be fully booked but after heavy pressure a smoke free room was available. This was however not the case for another member of our group. Otherwise the personnel was service minded. The room and the bathroom were very small. The room was clean except the broadloom which was dirty.
To conclude: Average standard but ask for a smoke free room.

Convenient location to go to Messe via Tram. Not fascinated but the room is clean. No air conditioner - no way to stay cool except to open the window. The staffs are all right in term of friendliness, The breakfast is good. The big porblem is that the hotel does not provide the laundry service. The hotel recommended to go to the shop behind the hotel, and I found it takes 4 to 7 days to return - no way for the traveller. You have to be sure that you do not need any laundry service before making your reservation. For me, it was very crucial.

We stayed here for 5 nights during an extremely busy period, and breakfast could be a bit hectic, but the staff coped admirably, despite some obvious language difficulties. Our room looked out the back of the hotel on to a pretty little market square with shops and a cafe, handy for bits and pieces and giving the place a very local atmosphere. The room was neat and clean, and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

A Nightmire!
I checked in round midnight, i had a verry late flight. When arriving at my room, a non smoker room, it stank like cigarettes. After opening the window for 15 minutes, the stank was tolerable, but came back during the night. Because it was snowing, i couldn't sleep with an open window. I had a rough caugh an soar throth for almost a week, like I was a smoker..
At the reception, they did't believe mee, and dud.. Nothing.. What a poor service!

Breakfast was poor: very bad coffee, no fresh fruit.

A hotel a'd like to forget asap..

The hotel is perfectly situated for people wishing to stay outside of the main town but is also very handy for the conference centre. The hotel is 4 stops from the main train station and about 10 from the conference centre on the #16 tram route. The area is clean, safe and definitely has a local feel.

The hotel is clean with very helpful staff. The room was comfortable and warm if a little noisy from road traffic as the city woke for work (about 6am).
Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of good food from cereal to cheesecake!
Internet connection was €5 for the whole stay so in my case €1 per day!
Local supermarket sold fresh essentials including a good range of bread, snacks and cheap beers (the room fridge came in very useful).

Leipzig is a mix of old and new but is well worth visiting.
I would use this hotel again if I get the chance to revisit Leipzig.

Room Tip: I was on the 1st floor so maybe ask for a higher level.
