I stayed in this hotel when attending a business management meeting in early Feb. It’s a relatively short drive out of Leipzig, the station and airport.
The Check In/Out was relatively efficient and friendly and service was generally OK (with limited bar staff dealing well with large influx of business travelers). The rooms were quite small, basic but comfortable enough, although given the freezing temperatures the single thin duvet and postage stamp size solitary pillow was not exactly the lap of luxury. Although the bathroom was clean and well equipped the shower cubicle was tiny. I am average height (5’10) but I shudder to think how people over 6 feet or of a generally larger frame would cope.
I ate in the restaurant a couple of times and the food was generally good and, again, service attentive. The buffet breakfasts was ample and with a wide enough choice. The bar area was welcoming with a good atmosphere and, quite frankly, an astonishing range of high quality single malts. Obviously somebody at the hotel must be somewhat of a whiskey fan.
All in all, for the price and this kind of business travel, the hotel is pretty basic but friendly, efficient and comfortable enough (bar the shower units and postage stamp size bedding). It’s a close enough drive into town although a more central hotel would obviously be far more convenient and certainly less unearthly quiet, for those travelling for leisure.More
