Hotel managers sometimes cut expenses to maximise profits. No big deal... except when it shows in so many ways.

Very conveniently located, 5 min walk to the old town, yet rather quiet at night. Clean rooms, full-length bath, pretty good breakfast buffet, parking in front (if you're lucky).

Almost everything is worn and shows signs of decay or neglect.
- Oldish decor and tiles in bathroom (some cracked), like your aunt's place dating from the 1960s
- Toilet tank fills very slowly, so better plan your business there with your spouse to avoid unpleasant surprises
- Awkward oldish shower mixer requiring you to operate both cold and warm taps; watch out for the burning-hot warm water tap and exposed plumbing (avoid touching it during your shower!)
- One window did not open, both window frames had most of the paint peeling off
- Good breakfast buffet but the breakfast staff is definitely subpar. Buffet trays are often not refilled in time; stickers for cheese and cold cuts display the wrong names (they were never changed in 3 days, gotta wonder why they bother even putting them); staff leaving dirty stuff on tables that customers must clear themselves; one staff lady even closed the entrance doors almost in the face of customers who were following her (she never looked if anyone was near), etc
- one must often park in backstreets despite assurances of parking in front of hotel

Too bad, the buildings are rather nice and it could be so much more.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the street

Hotel very close and convenient to centre either walking or cycling. Found it easier to get around using our bikes, park up and sight see.
Hotel reception areas in keeping with decor, but bedrooms very disappointing! Tired, worn and very dated - needs refurbishing.
Although free internet was provided it was extremely temperamental and wouldn't contact using an iPhone!
Breakfast was adequate, but limited range of breakfast food / drink.

Stayed for ond night and booked by hotels.com.

At arrival we were sent to a guesthouse on a nearby street. Not what we expected or wanted.

Rooms were nice, clean and quite alright and staff was professional.

Breakfast was ok.

Within walking distance to most things in the old town. Easy access to restaurants, cafés, pubs, clubs and so on.
Plenty of things to see in neighboring area too.
Clean rooms, high ceiling, nice bathroom with everything you needed, including bathtub.. Internet access for one item per person, reasonable speed. Each room could have had a small fridge to keep drinks/water cold
Breakfast ok if you are early. Not too much to choose from but ok. Coffee a bit weak though...
Some parking space in front of the building and then you can park on the street if the limited parking space is full.
Staff friendly and very helpful.
Ask for a room with no traffic noise. Our room was very quiet

Room Tip: Quiet rooms towards the backside of the hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights and had 2 rooms, a suite and a double room. The suite had 2 rooms and 2 baths, while the double room had a bath and a large room. Both rooms were spacious and well cleaned, although the carpets could need a replacement soon. There were sitting groups in both rooms. The bathrooms were very nice and seemed to have been upgraded recently.
The breakfast was very nice if you arrived before 9. A bit less to choose from when arriving later.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Free WiFi was available, one code per guest/device. Very stable and fast connection. Could stream Netflix without any problems.
The hotel is about a 8-10 minutes walk from the city center. The hotel itself is rather old but very charming.
There is a limited number of parking lots available. No problem when arriving early though.
