This a pleasant hotel, though we were lucky to get one of the larger rooms, like many of the other comments privacy was a little bit of an issue. The restaurant was hit both Sunday & Monday which was disappointing especially as Almería has a lot of facilities shut on a Monday. Breakfast was served both on the terrace roof and the restaurant but it was never clear which!

We have just returned from a week’s stay at Aire Hotel and couldn’t fault a single thing about our experience from check in to check out.

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing useful details about the city when we checked in and perfect recommendations for local restaurants and a flamenco show that we never would have discovered without their help.

Our room was amazing, spotlessly clean and large (split over three levels!) with great views of the alcazaba, comfy bed, and lovely L’occitaine toiletries provided. The other amenities were just as impressive; the rooftop terrace has amazing views and although the pool area isn’t large we had no trouble getting sun loungers any time we visited the pool. The terrace is also a perfect spot to enjoy the hotel breakfast that comes with plenty of choice for vegetarians and meat eaters alike and even cava.

A ‘must do’ for any hotel guests is a visit to the ancient baths - plus guests receive a discount! We had an amazingly relaxing few hours in the baths, which like the rest of the hotel, were spotlessly clean and calming with friendly staff.

The location is perfect, walking distance from all the sights and best restaurants, but in a tranquil square that is perfect for a peaceful stay.

We’d recommend Aire to anyone visiting the wonderful city of Almería.

My wife and I had had a three hour olive oil package: an hour and a half in the baths and another hour and a half treatment. The treatment was fantastic as were the staff. I have had massages in half the world: Thailand, Turkey, London (my family has a natural health clinic here so I know a little about the subject), etc. However, what spoiled it was the condition of the building and the water: Tiles missing in the ceiling, gaping wholes in the tiles of the baths, dust balls collecting in the bottom of the baths and so on. Then there was the overly load music which was obviously used to drown out the voices of the people at street level (the baths are in the basement) as well as the numerous clients (yes, very overcrowded for a place were you are meant to relax) that seemed to ignore the signs of silence strategically placed around the baths. In conclusion, after spending 200 euros I felt that I needed another massage! I would give the masseurs 5 stars and the venue one... so three seems rather generous!

We stayed here as a night stop gap between Malaga and Murcia. It was the perfect place to relax and chill out. Small but lovely roof top pool, it needs more sunbeds around it as there was only 3 when we were there. The views are beautiful from the terrace.
The room was immaculately clean and I loved the l’occitance products that were supplied. Lovely view of the plaza on a Juliet balcony-so relaxing.
I would 100% recommend doing the ancient baths and adding in a 60min massage as for this it topped the trip off and made it special. The staff are very professional and friendly.
It won’t be cheap if you do all of that but for us it was worth it. Will definitely book another Aire hotel again.

We stayed here for three nights whilst taking a break from our friends who live on Mar Menor on the Costa Calida.

This hotel is located in the town square opposite the Town Hall with beautiful architecture all around. You know you are in the real Spain ! There are few English people about which works all day for me - if you want louts, people wearing gravy stained vests sporting garish tattoos then Almeria is not the place. Try Benidorm or west of Malaga on the Costa Del Sol !

The hotel is lovely and the two girls on reception were brilliant and spoke good English although we try and converse in Spanish when possible. We stayed in a two tier room with a bed below and one up top which served as a boy cave for our 12 year old son. Quirky but brilliant overlooking the square.

The rooms were spotless and there is a lovely Spa-like odour permeating throughout the hotel continuously. The rooms were clean, the toilet has a remote control and shower comes with Molton Brown bathroom products. Nice touch. Clean towels every day and the room had extra pillows, a fridge and really good WiFi which was free !

We didn’t try breakfast but it looked ok. Plenty were having it but we chose to eat out every morning as you are basically in an area of the city that is a awash with all the best restaurants in town. All within five minutes of you !!!!

We spent the evenings on the rooftop terrace having a swim and watching the sun set - there is an amazing view of the ancient fort on the hill with its statue of San Cristobel overlooking the City. We tried the Spa and it was top notch and seriously worth a visit. It has been beautifully restored !

For what you pay to stay here it is amazing. Goes to show that you can pay top dollar for a hovel in a tourist spot but you can pay much less for some culture, real luxury in a great City. The beach is approximately 20 mins walk and main shopping streets about 10 mins.

Great hotel. We will be back !!!!
