Delightful hotel in just about one of the best locations in town.
Rooms, reception, bar and restaurant are all renovated in style and are kept spotless.
Staff are friendly, helpful and polite.
Breakfast was plentiful and a good Nespresso machine making fine coffee.
The bar was lively on the Saturday night with a good atmosphere.
Location is superb.
Step out of the front door into Catedral Square with no traffic to contend with.
View from the roof terrace takes in the square and the Moorish fortress up on the hill.
You can walk to pretty much every place you're likely to want to see in Almeria and the bars and restaurants are never far away. Especially the tapas places.
Couldn't think of a better hotel in Almeria.

We had booked 2 standard rooms for a long weekend with friends to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were given a very warm welcome by a charming lady on reception and she gave us 2 superior rooms overlooking the side of the Cathedral. The rooms were spacious and very clean with nicely appointed bathrooms. The restaurant and bar had a nice atmosphere in the evening and after a night out we would visit the bar for a coffee and a nightcap. The location is absolutely great and we enjoyed our stay.

The location is just next to the cathedral. Just in the heart of everything. The room is nice, well renovated with great shower.
The room though did not have any view (although I asked for a room with a view on my reservation). A narrow window which did not allow much light in the room. Also, the roof terrace was closed. The weather was great and we could even sunbathe but we could not get to the terrace. The service in the hotel is a 1 star- none.

The location of the hotel is perfect for enjoying the city of Almería by foot (we arrived by train for the weekend) as car parking nearby is hard to get and quite expensive. Our room was nicely decorated, but we didn´t have a view. For the view we asked to go up to the rooftop terrace (during summer, there is a jaccuzi here...to call it a pool, as I saw elsewhere, is a very far stretch from reality), and it was really nice.
When considering this hotel, try to book well in advance...and check whether some sites offer better prices than the hotel itself (we saw both situations, about a week apart some 5 weeks before we were planning to go there)...we booked for 3 nights (no breakfast included) and payed 140€. When staying in the hotel, you can get a tapas menú (consisting of 4 tapas, really big and good quality, together with 2 drinks) for the very interesting price of 15€...only sunday to thursday, I remember.
The bar & restaurant are very popular, so be aware there might be noise and tables might be hard to get, but we cannot complain about this, neither do we complain about the reception : although the person at the reception wasn´t always the same, they were always friendly, and the restaurant bill we had charged to the hotel bill was correct. Near our room, there was a fridge with free bottles of water, which we could really appreciate a lot. We had free wifi, and our bags were kept in a closed and transparent locker space near the reception the last day of our stay.
