What a treat, right in the middle of the old city on a fantastic little plaza.
Friendly well kept and the courtyard garden is beautiful.

The location was fantastic. The apartment was small and the kitchen had limited utensils. There was a microwave but no microwave dishes. It was too small for four people although there was only two of us. When booking the apartment for two looked too small which is why we opted for this apartment. The sights are all within walking distance and we visited the mezquita before 10am as we were told by the staff that there is free admission. That was really helpful. The wifi frequently cut out and was always connected in the apartment. It did not work anywhere except the seating area which was intermittent.

Three of us rented one apartment for a night in Cordoba. I felt the actual accommodations were accurately represented in the advertisements. The garden was dear, the rooms were more thoughtfully decorated than usual, and everything was very clean. The bathroom was tiny but really very dear, and we were content. The young women running the place (Angela) were kind and efficient. We had everything we needed, and we arranged parking in advance which was good. Our GPS found it easily. I would stay there again cheerfully, and do recommend it. It's a ten-minute brisk walk to the Mesquita.

Room Tip: I might take earplugs next time, because we remained on US schedule, and the pedestrians on the stre...

My family (two kids ages 6 and 11 yrs old) stayed here for two nights on an Andalusian culture vacation. We are not new to staying in apartment hotels in Europe and understand the risks involved (no manager on site, small establishment, limited parking to name a few). Our experiences in most places have usually been decent to fairly high standards. Luna de Cristal, sadly, was so below standards that I feel a deep need to warn others to consider staying elsewhere.

We choose to stay here because of its location as well as being in the old Jewish neighborhood (Juderia) with small winding alleys and full of charm. I do have to say that the location was near the Mezquita but still a 10-15 minute walk. It is located on a small plaza which has several bars spilling onto the open area. Also on this plaza is a fish market so imagine the smell in the high July heat. Thankfully, by night time the smell subsides so we did enjoy sitting outside at one of the bars into the late night.

The apartment itself is housed in a very nicely decorated old home with an inner courtyard full of plants and a broken fountain. I think there are four apartments total. The inside of the apartment was also nicely decorated with a decent sized table for eating meals and a small kitchen to cook in. It had the basic requirements and a small fridge. The sofa bed easily turned into the bed for the kids. There wasn't a door to the bedroom but it was separated enough for privacy.

The negatives... The full floor to ceiling windows must be original to the apartment building (1800s?). They do NOT reduce ANY sound whatsoever. In the heat of July Spain tends to sleep all day and stay up all night. The bars on the plaza were full of people talking and laughing until about 3 am. On top of this, there was construction going on in the building across the tiny alley from the apartment. We were woken up at 5 am on both mornings by construction men talking very loudly, tiles being thrown out the window which was just across from our bedroom window, and other various construction noises. I rang the manager the first morning to complain and she apologized but couldn't do anything to make them stop since they need to work in the cooler part of the day. I think an establishment should warn its customers of this issue before staying in their hotel. It's just bad business but obviously one from a business in dire need for money. The manager did offer 50% off our stay to compensate. This didn't help us since we were so exhausted that we had difficulties enjoying Cordoba. When you spend time and money on a vacation, its the little things like this that can ruin it.

Do be careful with parking. The apartment building has ONE parking space allowed and it has the sign for the apartment hotel. We parked just behind it since the manager's car was in that assigned space. The sign we parked by stated it was allowed 30 minutes parking. We just wanted to check in and then return for our suitcases. We were gone not 10 minutes when we returned to a parking ticket and then a tow truck coming to take our car away. It took the manager AND my husband to plead with the police to not tow our car and also to not insist on the 200 Euro payment up front to tell the tow trucks to leave. They said that the 30 minute sign was for the construction company. It all seemed rather underhanded to us. I've been told this is the case all around Spain.

I do not suggest this establishment for anyone who goes to bed early and sleeps lightly. If you are a couple who will be out late and don't mind night noise, then it's a decent place to be in a location that is fairly near the sights of the city. Do check beforehand if the construction next door has been completed.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms that do not have windows that open up on the plaza and the alley. There are two ap...
