The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, first off. Great little inner patio courtyard in a very traditional Cordoban house, so it feels like home. I imagine the quieter rooms would be upstairs on the 1st floor.

Big, clean bathrooms with nice showers. Beds aren't the most comfortable, but the rooms are nice and they give you a locker (bring your own lock). Inside is a small cafe where you can get a cheap breakfast or snack, although locals also come in for tapas at night and coffee in the morning so don't stay on the ground floor if you want to sleep in late.

On the top floor is a LOVELY rooftop terrace with a view of the Mezquita belltower, which is 2 minutes walk away. You are in a great place in the old town with everything around you. Good, fast internet, what more can I say, I would definitely come back here. Cordoba was my #1 in Spain, after Barcelona.

Room Tip: On the first floor are quieter, the ground floor has the cafe noise at some points in the day.

As many reviewers mentioned, this place absolutely looks like a hidden museum. Very lovely, The decoration and floor design transforms you into Medieval Andalusia . The only down side I can think of is the emptiness of the place. I had a whole room for myself - which I can't complain about-. However, I wasn't able to meet anyone and even the service was limited and the time the manager was present was rare. I had to wait an hour to check in, and when I needed a plug in the evening, she wasn't there. Nevertheless, she was very helpful when present. Oh, and there was no kitchen, which was very inconvenient.
I would recommend this place for someone who wants some quite reflection time. However, if you are into meeting people and a hype experience, then maybe another place would work.
Or perhaps I came the wrong time, dunno.

I loved this place. I had a single room that looked into the gorgeous interior courtyard of the hostal. The place is well located in just around the corner from the Mesquite. In fact, the church tower stands above the great rooftop terrace of the hostal. The area is touristy but you can find great food and shopping nearby. They rent bikes too. I liked the interior courtyard - very pretty and welcoming. They have an informal bar and serve breakfast - basic bread, orange juice and coffee deals. My room and the shared bathroom were clean and the place was quiet. I slept really well here. They have a range of rooms from 6 bed and 4 bed dorms to private rooms with or without baths. I would stay here again. I ended up here with some people I'd taken the bus with from Granada. They were a solo backpacker and two older couples and we all loved our rooms and the quaintness of the place. The staff could work harder to provide their guests with information on the area. I spent each siesta reading and dozing on their room top terrace beds. :)

Sometimes I feel like I'm in another planet! This hostel was so nice, architecture was splendid, the women in charge were extremely polite and trying their best to make our staying pleasant. It is well located, very beautiful and coloured place, with a nice outside bar. It was really really great to spend time there. I like it because we (contrary to some people) didn't have great expectations like luxury hostels and so on, we mostly did Couchsurfing so this was to us really classy ;)
