“Charming courtyards”
Reviewed 23 June 2013

We spent a week in Spain and stayed in 5 different hotels and this was my husband's favorite. This hotel is a patch of five different historic homes so the layout is somewhat disjointed but hey I came here for the romance. Our room was great with a large desk and a large marble bathroom that included a Jacuzzi tub, a separate shower, and a separate toilet room. The front staff was excellent and took care of our car which we were happy to ditch since driving in Cordoba is a little nightmare with their one way streets that seem to always go the opposite direction of where we wanted to go. The location is superb with the Mesquita-Cathedral, the roman bridge, and the Patios del Alcazar Viejo within a short walking distance. Many of the homes were still open from The festival of the Patios during June. We did not try the breakfast or the pool so can't comment. Our only complaint (and it's significant for us- since we do a lot of our next day planning and reservations using our tablet) is that the Wifi does not go to most rooms - you could see everyone huddled in the courtyard trying to get a signal. I understand that in these complex structures the wifi may not reach but technology has come a long way and it is not that difficult to overcome this. Having said that however, I would stay here again and would recommend it to family and friends.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 37.

Great place! a lot of effort was placed into creating a medieval feel. Tiny Moor-style courtyards surrounded by low level construction rooms, sitting areas and restaurant. Situated inside the walled old city and a few minutes walk from the ancient synagogue and Mesquita. It was an amazing experience to walk the cobble-stoned paths and imagine the past.
It was hard to find the hotel since cars are prohibited from entering from most main roads. Fortunately, there was a parking lot right outside the wall, 2 minutes walk to hotel.
nightmare for vegetarians! great coffee and croissants at Cafe Roland, also right outside the wall: 2 lattes, 2 croissants with jam, 2 fresh and amazing oj's with table service only 9 euros. Also, right along the the street that leads to the ancient gate to the city there was a club(?) with a great flamenco show. We happened on it in the middle and paid 17 euros pp. for show and 1 drink.

This was a lovely hotel and the only reason I haven't rated it excellent is that the wifi was slightly unpredictable. Breakfasts were great, staff very friendly and our room was lovely. Pool was in lovely setting, if slightly chilly!

We spent 2 nights in Las Casas de la Juderia in Cordoba in mid-May, during the annual Festival of the Patios. The hotel was fascinating, linking various historic homes and their courtyards together, with each of the 64 rooms very distinct. The location was superb, within a short distance from the extraordinary Grand Mosque (Mesquita) and the other historic attractions of Cordoba. Cerning the hotel, we found the bed, bath, breakfast, general ambiance all good. However, when we checked in, the receptionist said that we were booked in a "difficult" room. And lo and behold, when we finally reached our 3rd floor room and opened the door, there was an interior steep 12-step stairway (lacking a handrail) to also be climbed to reach the bedroom. We are seniors, and while fit, I thought that this could be a serious impediment for many and it should not have been assumed that we could manage this. Also, I was surprised that a hotel of this size lacked a computer for guests' use. The receptionist allowed me to use her office computer for a few messages, but I would have thought it helpful -- as we found in most other hotels in which we stayed in Spain over 17 days -- to have a computer for guest access. In general, when staying in historic hotels like this, I would also suggest asking for a cheerful, sunny room with some sort of view. Some rooms (e.g. on ground floor) can be very dark or facing walls.

Room Tip: Ask for room that is sunny and has some kind of view.

This was a lovely hotel very close to the Mezquita in Cordoba. We stayed in a room with a lovely bathroom, large bed, and beautifully maintained patios and pool. We stayed during the patios festival in May and usually there were groups of tourists peering through the gates because the hotel was as attractive as those which were opening to the public. Breakfast was average although there wasn't much cooked choice for vegetarians. Finding the hotel was tricky even with the help of gps - we eventually called the hotel and was told we needed to put a different street into the satnav and that took us straight there but it would have been helpful to know this in advance. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

First of all the location of this hotel is excellent to visit the nice old town of Cordoba. The mesquite and Alcazar are both within 5 min walking distance.

The hotel itself feels very authentic and warm. Our room was really nice with a huge bed and great bathroom (with jacuzzi). The people working in the hotel are very friendly and helpful. They booked our hammam and gave us good tips for dinner (Mercado Victoria, great).
We didn’t take the breakfast in the hotel, but had coffee and a croissant in one of the many places near the hotel.

I can really recommend this hotel for e relaxing stay in Cordoba

i reviewed this cordova hotel, and the review somehow slipped into tripadvisor under the hotel of the same name in sevilla, not in cordova. but i did dine in that las casas de la juderia in sevilla, and it fits that review, except that the sevilla las casas de la juderia does have a wonderful cozy and luxurious lobby to sit in, have drink, and read. i did not stay there though. but the dining experience was great, and the people we met who were staying in that sevilla hotel just loved it.

so, for the cordova hotel:

I am an elderly experienced world traveler who does much research before each trip, and is quitepicky but not i think overly so.

This is a quite expensive boutique hotel in a fantastic location between the alcazar and the mosque/cathedral near the river. loads of spanish charm with many courtyards and a piano bar and nice restaurant (the price for the breakfast - 19 euro - was laughable, so we found a nice little bistro in the neighborhood, across from the moadque/cathedral, and had a bite and a coffee with the locals). staff very friendly and helpful. super clean, spacious rooms, with fabulous luxury bathrooms. no lobby/sitting room which is a shame - only complaint. worth the money. i would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: check your room first as they are all quite different.
