“Comfortable room, friendly staff”
Reviewed 19 February 2014

Warm welcome at early check in. Smallish but very comfortable bedroom. Huge bathroom with bath, separate shower, nice freebies. Early evening knock at our door to receive free fruit, cake and water...nice touch. TV has BBC World News. The place is quiet. No complaints. Must confess we used the small cafe around the corner for breakfast...but I'm sure the hotel's breakfast is good too...just a little more expensive...actually 3 times more expensive BUT we did enjoy dinner here, massive portions, so be warned...and a little expensive. Very friendly staff. Great stay.

Room Tip: We had a 'standard' double and it was okay, so don't worry about type of room.

The nice is very nice and original.
It comes from joining 5 different cordovan houses together with very nice internal patios.
Very well located at the heart of the old city.
Check the room!
we were given room 19 when we arrived, and it was quite small with problems to walk between the bottom of the bed (King size) and the wall. Then we asked for a change and we were given room 12. Staff was attentive and they did change our room.
room 12 was Much bigger than 19 with two good and comfortable twin beds.
Little light in the room since they are facing internal patios.
Clean toilettes with big bath tube.
Breakfast room is a bit small and sometimes difficult to host all guest at certain hours. Quality of breaksfast, nothing outstanding, but good.

We stayed here for one night after reviewing several comments and didn't have good experiences here. Firstly, we wrote to ask how can we go hotel from bus station, they just simply replied by taxi or walk......Secondly it came heavy rain and they had no umberlla, imaging a hotel with four star! Lastly when we checked in they told us the breakfast is included and we double checked for that, but when we finished breakfast they charged and said they told us it's excluded. How can we say? I can only not recommed this hotel to others.

I strongly recomend this hotel.
the place has charme. Our rooms were super, with a view over the old town and Mezquita.
The bathrooms were big and comfortables. The decoration is nice.
The staff was nice and helpful. the groom recomended us a very good restaurant out of the very center of town.
Breaktfast is very good. The breakfastroom is not the nicest place of the hotel, but is ok.
All the patios inside the building are really nice.

We loved the location of this hotel. Our tour bus was unable to drop us off in front of the hotel and we had to our bags from a drop off zone up to the hotel. The hotel appears to be part of a group of courtyard buildings that were put together to create all the rooms. The hotel has a lovely sitting area that truly has that old world feeling. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for a person that has trouble with stairs. While the hotel has an elevator, the charm of the hotel is its old world features. There are stairs all over the place. Getting around the hotel is like walking a maze. We didn’t mind it. It was truly old world and with great character. The rooms were large and adequately furnished. I didn’t care for the bathroom or the location of our room. Some of the rooms are exterior facing on the first floor. Our room was on the first floor on the side of the hotel. Adjacent our room is a sidewalk and you could clearly hear people walking along that sidewalk at night. The windows offer no sound buffering. While I don’t mind being on the first floor, you could hear the pedestrian sounds at all hours of the night. The bathroom was nice sized but the toilet room smelled of sewer. We had trouble adjusting the temperature of the shower and we were not the only ones with that problem. As one person from our group said, the temperature was between way too hot and scalding. The bathroom odor wasn’t strong but still unpleasant. Breakfast was nice with all kinds of hams, pastries, and scrambled eggs along with cereals, teas and coffee. The location of the hotel allowed us to walk everywhere. It was a great location. Internet was free but painfully slow and not available in all rooms. The WiFi antenna does not reach all areas of the hotel. We’d suggest you ask for a room on the second floor away from the outdoor patio area.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms facing the exterior patio restaurant for the hotel. For better wifi coverage, seek o...

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at this old but refurbished property with preserved ruins within its walls. Finding our room was like going through a maze but we seemed to find it every time!! The room itself was beautifully furnished although on the small side. The bathroom was a step up so we had to be cautious at night making our way to the facility and back not to trip over the step. The bed was extremely comfortable (hard to wake yourself up in the morning comfortable!). We enjoyed happy hour in the courtyard. As far as the staff at reception, they were cordial, some more friendlier than others. When we were inquiring about the Andalusian Horse Show, they gave us incorrect information causing us to miss the show (shows were only performed on certain nights).

After getting lost in the rain trying to find the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised once we actually arrived. The rooms surround a patio, quite typical of the buildings in Cordoba's old town. Our room was on the top floor overlooking the Mezquita, which was wonderful. But, you need to use stairs to access the top floor, which might be difficult for older guests.

The room itself was spacious and the bathroom had a bath and separate shower, although the latter is quite small. We loved the antique decor and the bed was very comfortable. My only criticism would be that there were no coffee or tea facilities in the room, which you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

We opted not to take the breakfast offered at the hotel, but rather enjoyed the numerous bars and cafés around. Ask the receptionist, she recommended great cafés, tapas bars and restaurants which served good quality food at reasonable prices nearby. Overall, the staff were very helpful and spoke good English.

A lovely stay all around, we can definitely recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: Ask to over look the Mezquita.
