“Great location & charm, but...”
Reviewed 11 August 2014 via mobile

The good:
- perfect location for tourists
- beautifully maintained patios
- lovely cool pool
- helpful staff
- awesome air conditioning
- well appointed and modern bathroom

The bad:
- wifi officially only works in the patios and lounge, although it was mostly fine in our room. A pretty slow connection though.
- The only window in the room was patio-facing so lacked privacy with the curtain open but was gloomily dark with it closed.

The ugly:
- I felt apprehensive about other reviewers' comments about street noise so was pleased to find we'd got a room on the "quiet" side of the hotel and two floors up as well. No such luck. Room-to-room noise was minimal (apart from the hotel's unique "tornado toilets" as we christened them - so loud and vicious in their flush that you could hear them from two rooms away!). Room-to-hotel noise was the killer here - awful: squeaking door hinges, slamming doors, any conversations outside (drunken at 1 or 2am or families at 7am), luggage being pulled along, anything dropped in the patio areas etc etc etc. and all at the actual volume. This was probably due to the one window being double glazed but the door having no insulation at all - in fact with the lights out, sunlight poured through three of the four sides of the closed door it fitted so poorly. Not a place for a great night's sleep, unfortunately.

A shame as this is a beautiful, historic and interesting hotel, but I'd think twice about booking here again.

What a charming hotel, full of character - really enjoyed our two day stay here.
Breakfast was disappointing though as the breakfast room is in what seems an old cellar - you don't eat it in the main dining area which is an attractive open courtyard.
Wi-Fi was problematic as you have to go to the guest's lounge to access this.
Pool was lovely with comfortable sun loungers.
Staff could have been more attentive eg keeping pool area tidy, serving drinks.
Great location in Cordoba - great for wandering out.

We stayed as group of six in three rooms in this delightful hotel during July 2014, and we were all most impressed.

Amongst its many assets are its:
- location: you simply don't need any transport to see all the highlights of Cordoba
- unique design: the courtyards are lovely, and there is a pleasant feel to the whole environment
- efficient, friendly staff
- generous rooms: each with a fridge and air conditioning, and tastefully, but simply decorated
- the swimming pool: though small, it was a nice place to be
- a readily accessible computer, with a printer, allowing us to print stupid RyanAir boarding passes (grrrr!)
For us, in the hot season, this was reasonably priced, excellent accommodation.

It wasn't perfect:
- poor wifi, and that only in public areas - averaged around 0.2 MBPS
- punitive breakfast price (€16) and rip off drinks

Nonetheless, it's an honour to stay in this hotel.

Nice boutique hotel located in Cordoba's Jewish Quarter (as the name would suggest). The hotel is a former historic building, which adds to the appeal. Las Casas de la Juderia is an easy walk from all the main attractions in Cordoba, making it a convenient choice. The rooms are clean and well maintained; however the hotel offers very little in the way of amenities....no gym, and the hotel bar is not really a bar. Another downside is the lack of in-room WIFI - internet is available (and free) only in select public locations within the hotel.

A charming little place in the centre of the old town of Cordoba! Our room was clean and appointed with all the standard amenities" and a full size walk in shower. What a treat! Highlights include the very pleasant and helpful staff and the extensive breakfast with custom orders and cava available!

I would return.

Areas for improvement: wireless internet speed is lacking. My wife writes a travel blog and she was not able to upload pictures due to the wireless issue. At least wireless was available in the room unlike the sister hotel in Seville Also as someone already notes, breakfast at 16E seemed on the high side.

Room Tip: Ask for a rOom overlooking the courtyard

We loved Las Casas de La Juderia. I agree with another reviewer who suggested using GPS to find the address. Parking was available in a public garage almost adjoining the hotel. The rate was pretty much what we encountered throughout our visit to Spain, in the 15 to 29€ range.

Our room was comfortable, clean, and reasonably sized. Internet was fine. Staff was helpful. The clincher for us was that we were right in the historic district, within a few hundred yards of the major monuments, good restaurants, and endless photo opportunities.

Las Casas ranks among the top 2 or 3 of the hotels we visited in Spain. Will definitely return.

A series of old houses, now connected, at the bottom of the Old Jewish Quarter in Cordoba creating a calm and peaceful oasis to stay during a visit to this ancient city.
The hotel is a selection of courtyards interlocking to create a beautifully set hotel with lovely rooms accompanied by a small pool and quiet areas to sit and soak up the sun or contemplate the city scenes you have visited. It is as easy to get lost among the hotel's different sections as it is around the winding lanes that surround it!
Very well positioned for all the major attractions as well as bars and restaurants we found this hotel an ideal base for touring Cordoba.
The hotel staff were very courteous and welcoming and Lola(?) was very knowledgeable and informative in respect of what to see and when.
The hotel is clean and tidy in both rooms and public areas (although it took a couple of days before the room maid spotted and removed hairs from the bidet in the bathroom).
I would have given the hotel a well deserved 5 out of 5 had I not had to request the water in the mini-bar be replenished on a daily basis, one time twice (bearing in mind it was 30 plus degrees, in the shade, outside).

I would whole heartily recommend this hotel to any discerning traveller to Cordoba looking for something a little bit different and special as a place to rest.
