First the good:
Great location if you are driving. Easy to find and there is available parking in a nearby lot which the staff will direct you to and meet you there.
The staff is wonderful. They speak English and are most helpful in itinerary/restaurant suggestions.
Breakfast is good but if not included in the rate, it's not wonderful.
The area is quiet.

The bad:
The hotel/room decor is shoddy. Some have said minimalist - which it is - but in a cheap way. If staying here, book as big of a room as possible. Bathroom had ONE plastic cup. REALLY?

Others have raved about this place, but I just can't agree. The positives do make it acceptable for a short stay.

Dear traveler,
I appreciate the time you have spent writing your review. Honestly we accept all the reviews especially if you help us to improve. But there are a few others full of adjectives close to discourtesy without any constructive suggestions.
As everything in life, the value of things is relative too. It is very risky to financially evaluate something unknown for someone. Just to mention, the tapestry above the bed of the room you were accommodated is a creation of a Spanish interior designer with several awards at international textile exhibitions.
Regarding the plastic cup in the bathroom, I understand it is not very smart but we do it for security reasons, to prevent accidents with broken glasses. Anyway, some crystal glasses are always available at the breakfast area and our guests are allowed to take them to their rooms.

Gerardo Holgado

A great small modern hotel located just outside the main tourist area, but still within easy walking distance of the major sights and restaurants. The breakfast was a superb mix of fresh fruit, cheese and bread with various toppings. The staff were very helpful and provided great recommendations. We booked a standard first floor double room, which was a decent size and had good light from the skylights.

The location, just on the edge of the old Jewish Quarter and not too far from a car park, was excellent. The welcome by our host, Carmen, was warm and informative. And we were blessed immediately on arrival to witness a Semanta Santa procession walk down the alley in front of our hotel. Very moving. The next morning, it was an easy walk to La Mezquita through the Quarter.
La Mezquita was one of our biggest pleasant surprises during our two weeks in Spain. That evening were tried some of the excellent restaurants near the hotel. We enjoyed our stay there.

Hidden down a narrow alley with a not very welcoming front door but once inside it is wonderful. The two Carmen's provide a great welcome to this small and very different hotel. The rooms are around an inner courtyard and there is a pretty roof garden for sunbathing after sightseeing in Cordoba approx10 minutes walk away Lovely breakfast and great recommendations for dinner. the owner and staff are so friendly and helpful and want you to see the best of Cordoba

I am not sure how anyone could honestly describe the hotel or the the rooms as beautiful. The hotel is a budget hotel, NOT a top-tier hotel despite its high rating on this site. The staff speaks fluent English and is very accommodating and helpful.
That said:
Room: the size of our top-priced room was large. However, the room was sparsely and cheaply furnished. I happen to love contemporary, but this was spartan college-dorm style, not upper end minimalistic. Clean but very basic.
Bathroom: Again, spartan. Functional, furbished with low-end fixtures. Not a high-end bathroom.
Courtyard: You have to be kidding me: gold bean bag chairs, large gravel for flooring, and to me, tacky plants and "sculpture".
Price: we paid about $120 US less than a double room at Balcon de Cordoba. I would recommend spending the extra $120 US if you are staying more than one night in Cordoba.
Location: Not bad. We had no trouble finding the hotel as the taxi let's you off on the corner and you just need to walk down the street. This area is in my opinion a "must see" and there are some good-very good restaurants within 4 blocks of the hotel.
Staff: speak excellent English (the best on our 21 trip in Spain) and are very helpful and nice. I personally think that the staff could easily obtain jobs at the top hotels in Cordoba, or wherever else they chose based on their professionalism and proficiency with English.
Breakfast: Okay. Not sure why it gets such rave reviews, other than that it is included in the room rate.

Dear traveler,
I appreciate all the time you took to spread your word about Viento10.

About the hotel decor, the patio in particular, mention that you have confused some old ashlars appeared in the renovation of the building with sculptures. Moreover, what you saw and called ‘gravel’ is the cobblestone used in Portugal on the floors, courtyards houses and palaces, sidewalks, etc. In this very aesthetic, simple and organic way of pavement, you have seen only gravel.

Your criticism does not help us to improve, because our philosophy it is based on the simplicity and serenity (what you call ‘spartan dorm style’) and we believe in it.
Finally, the hotel staff asks me to thank you for your favorable comments towards them and they also know that they could work in many other hotels but they are happy to work in Viento10 because it is a place with soul, also for the staff.

Maybe for someone who values things by their supposed economic value, intangible things in life that make us happy do not matter, but we value that in Viento10. A lot.

Regards,

Gerardo Holgado
