“Out of town but quiet atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2012

a little out of town but a taxi to the centre is between 6-10 euros and worth it as parking in Cordoba is a nightmare and at least if you don't take the car you can enjoy the tapas and a drink during the day and evening. The parador is a modern building cool and pleasant inside. The terrace is nice and big with plenty of sitting areas and for eating al fresco on the terrace is possible with a set area allocated for eating. A stroll through the gardens takes you to the pool area below the main building which is also spotlessly clean, plenty sunbeds around the pool. Service by the staff is excellent and they all were very obliging. Plenty car parking spaces outside with a limited number under cover, worth getting as the temperatures in June to August are extreme and cars are like ovens even in the mornings. Bedrooms big enough and bathrooms spacious with toiletries for your use. Although out of town it is peacefull and an evening drink on the terrace is the perfect way to end a days sightseeing!

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the pool with a balcony are nice but not cheap

We loved everything about this hotel except the wifi only worked downstairs! The room was large, the breakfasts were great, the terrace to eat and drink was lovely, the pool was exceptionally good with plenty of sunbathing space in the surrounding gardens, and it was only 10 minutes from the old city by car and much to my surprise only 10 minutes to Medinat Al Zahra. We found the bar and restaurant staff very helpful and friendly. A great place to stay if you want to combine sightseeing with sunbathing and relaxing.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the gardens have balconies but are probably dearer while our room, which was above...

Beeing a Parador, it looks more a Standard 4 star hotel, What makes it special is the view from the terrace, from wher you have an excellent view at night over the city of Cordoba.
The food in this parador is excellent, and I was surprised by the friendlyness of the staff.
One of the waiters even gave me the adress of a good goat cheese supplier in one of the nearby villages.
Very good stay for a visit to the Cathedral and the Juderia

Recently visited on a short break. The setting of the Hotel is wonderful looking from an elevated position over the City in the valley below. The grounds are lovely with a very large swimming pool with an attendant, changing rooms, showers and a bar all adjacent. The rooms had a great balcony, clean and roomy. We only had breakfast in the Hotel but the choice was excellent. Reception staff very helpful when asked to recommend restaurants and attractions. Taxi;s were reasonably priced. The City its self was well worth a visit.

This Parador is in a great location, in the hills just outside Cordoba, but just a short taxi or bus ride from the old town. This means that you can enjoy stunningly beautiful Cordoba and then escape the heat and crowds to the tranquility of the hotel gardens. There are views over the city to the hills beyond. The pool is large and in a very attractive setting, while the terraces offer a very pleasant place to enjoy a cool drink. The food in the restaurant is very good, but overal the hotel is too expensive for what it offers. The rooms are nothing special either in terms of size or decor, and you pay considerably more for one with a view over the city; the minibar was tiny and not well stocked -(1 expensive beer in a double room?); prices of water, beer and wine were all more expensive than in other Paradors we stayed in (and even they are hugely more pricey than in ordinary bars or shops).

Room Tip: Ask for room with a view - but the price goes up.

We were expecting this to be a highlight of our tour around the southern sights of Spain, and it was expensive. Disappointed! The room was very plain, rather dowdy, reminiscent of old motels. It was clean, though. View from fourth floor balcony was of the property- orangery, pool, but beyond that barren wastes of construction, and city in the distance. Nice neighborhood to stroll through. Dining room staff were friendly; food, apart from extensive breakfast buffet, was not particularly memorable. The Parador is clearly used by local families for special occasions, and we were delighted to catch an insight into the celebrations for First Communions - not usually seen by tourists. Easy taxi ride (10 euros) to Mezquite, so good location for tourists. By North American standards, out of date and disappointing.

We stayed 2 nights in mid-March. We chose this parador for the view but it turned out to be nothing special. We booked a twin with balcony. The room was large but the bathroom was small and the bed was hard. It is a little out of town but in a very nice neighborhood and an easy bus ride into town.
