A rainy afternoon in Cordoba and already seen the Mesquita? What to do? We opted for this museum and what a good choice it proved. The museum is inexpensive, very well set out with excellent presentation of artifacts with focus on Roman times and with good explanations in English. A great way to avoid the rain and learn a lot about the long history of human occupation of the region. Highly recommended.

This is a splendid, brand-new museum with an efficient overview of Andalusian archeological history. The English explanations are excellent, as are the many videos and interactive displays. A very pleasant and informative hour or hour-and-a-half can be spent here.

It was a bit hard to find--you may need to ask for directions because the approach is not evident (down stairs from the main square). In part of the museum you walk around excavations of an archeological site. The collections are quite good though we found those at the Sevilla museum to be a bit better.

I loved the whole city, and this museum was one of my favorite attractions. Nice new building, neat artifacts, and remains of an actual Roman structure underground.

We got in for free simply because the person in charge of the tickets had not arrived, perhaps overslept. This experience gave us a feel for the layers that made up the city of Cordoba and how three distinct cultures built on top of one another.
