There was not a whole lot to see in the museum. It is very modern and had some great computer-generated graphics of the amphitheater ruins on the bottom floor. But most of the exhibits are not well labeled, and not terribly interesting. It would be a good place to get out of the rain, but unless you are really an archaeology nut, it is not the best site in Cordoba.

An interesting museum for understanding the many different groups of people who have lived in Cordoba. We really liked the area below the museum that has some archeological digs of Roman origin.

Off the beaten track, this excellent museum offers a quiet time to understand the history of Cordoba. Very few visitors when I was there.
Excellently laid out with many accounts in english and spanish. Really liked the display of coins through time.
Could do with an on site cafe, (open at northern european hours perhaps).

A rainy afternoon in Cordoba and already seen the Mesquita? What to do? We opted for this museum and what a good choice it proved. The museum is inexpensive, very well set out with excellent presentation of artifacts with focus on Roman times and with good explanations in English. A great way to avoid the rain and learn a lot about the long history of human occupation of the region. Highly recommended.

This is a splendid, brand-new museum with an efficient overview of Andalusian archeological history. The English explanations are excellent, as are the many videos and interactive displays. A very pleasant and informative hour or hour-and-a-half can be spent here.
