“Well located for train/bus stations - already outdated and too smoky”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2010

We stayed at this hotel for 2 evenings.

- It is very well located only a 5-10 minute walk from the bus and train stations. It is a longer, though pleasurable, walk, maybe 15-20 minutes, to the city's historic center and the Mezquita. If it is important to you to stay within the historic center, then this is not the hotel for you.

- The hotel was built in the mid-2000's, but it already feels horribly out-dated to me. Entering the room, it felt like we had walked into the 1980's except for the bathroom which was relatively up-to-date.

- The entire hotel reeked horribly of cigarette smoke. It was a bit shocking to see cigarette smoking allowed in public areas - I have gotten used to smoking bans in most other cities. We had a smoking room - I don't know if there are non-smoking rooms that could be requested?

- The rooftop deck and pool were nice with a great view over the city. That said, the deckchairs didn't have cushions, making them incredibly uncomfortable, and the deck did not look nearly as nice as in the hotel's pictures. We couldn't figure out if the hotel's pictures had been photo-shopped or if they had made changes since the hotel had opened. The pictures showed a lovely wooden deck with tables and chairs - but the wooden deck was actually astroturf and there is no way you would sit where they had placed the tables and chairs in the photo.

- We had lunch at the AC Cordoba Palacio and wished we had been able to stay there. Unfortunately, it was fully booked when we were making our reservations. It is better located only a slightly longer distance from the train and bus stations but much closer to the historic centre - and it is much more modern.

- After Granada and Seville, we were not as impressed by Cordoba. In retrospect, we would have preferred to done Cordoba as a daytrip from Seville. Once you have seen the Mezquita (which is well worth the trip) and walked around the historic centre a litte bit, there is very little else there that can't be seen in the other two cities.

The Good: This urban hotel is well situated for many tourist attractions in Cordoba. Just north of the Old City, it is a healthy and nice walk to the Mesquita (2 KM), with many historic sites and lovely ancient roads on the way. The standard matrimonial room was adequately sized, with clean modern bathroom, furnishings, and comfortable bedding. The window looked onto an interior plaza (not a stunning view, but quiet with the window open). The restaurant was very good and the lobby is a comfortable place to relax. Secure parking is below the facility at a cost. The staff is professional.

The Bad: There are probably cheaper hotels that are just as nice, but not so easy to find. If you want to be right in the historic district, this is not the place for you. If you enjoy walking to see the city (this is Cordoba’s bustling retail district) it is fine.

Hotel was easy to find even without a map. On arrival was not that impressed at first as the reception area looks a bit dated however the reception staff where very helpful.
Our standard double room was lovely, spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed with all you would expect in a 4 star hotel. The room was also of an excellent size with a great bathroom.
When we were staying the weather was fantastic high 80's and the roof top pool was open and looks so stylish.
Hotel is sited just outside the city center and as Cordoba is not the biggest city in the world it was only a 20 minute walk away from the sightseeing area.
We booked the hotel through Booking.com on a Bed and Breakfast basis and the hotel thought it was room only. When challenged they instantly honoured the booking.
Breakfast was typical of this class of hotel with lots of variety and Ithink would have cost 12 Euro perhead which would be on the expensive side.
Secure car parking available at 15 Euros a day and if you are travelling by car would recommend you book as other parking options are difficult.
We did not use hotel bar or eat other than breakfast so cannot comment. Would definitely use again if in Cordoba.

The Cordoba Center Hotel, a newer, modern 4-star facility is easily found as it is located on a broad boulevard in a newer section of town. The old town is within walking distance, allowing one to park the car in the underground hotel garage (15 Euro per day) or free on the curb in a side street.

We requested and were assigned a quiet room by the outgoing, helpful with information, and English speaking reception staff. Our rather generously sized room #135, almost a suite faced an interior atrium and could not have been quieter. You could hear a pin drop. It had an entry area with closet, luggage rack, and access to the bath room, all of which could be closed off and separated with a heavy door from the carpeted bedroom, preventing any sounds intruding from the hallway outside. Quiet A/C and comfortable twin beds made for a good night sleep. Comfortable couch chairs, a glass topped table, fridge, safe, and a desk with computer hook-ups rounded out the room. Dark wood used to accent room and hallways made for a somewhat dark but nevertheless pleasing ambiance.

The floor to ceiling marble tiled bath room with a marble counter with his and her sinks with the latest super modern Grohe fixtures offered ample space to put one's stuff. Additionally, a good selection of toiletries was available. The WC and bidet were in an adjacent area separated by a sliding frosted glass door.

The on-site restaurant offers a good selection of dinner entrée choices and food served as well as service were excellent at prices commensurate with what is offered. The breakfast buffet (10 Euro) left nothing to be desired. All in all, the Center Hotel is a great choice for a stay in Cordoba.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 September 2009

We stayed at the Hotel Cordoba Center in the early part of september and found it to be a really nice hotel. The hotel is nicely located in a nice part of town, there are several bars and restaurants nearby, but it is about 20 minutes stroll to the "old town" where all the tourist streets and attractions are.
You're also only about 10 minutes walk from a main shopping street, around "Paseo Del Gran Capitan" and "Calle De Jose Cruz Conde".
There is also a nice 24 hour shop on "Av Del Gran Capitan" very near to "Av De America" where you can get snacks and drinks.
The hotel lobby is really large with lots of nice comfortable seating, the rooms are quite large and very nice and clean. The bathroom was also very nice and clean.
The pool on the roof was excellent and there is a large terrace area with sunloungers and places to sit. There are about 10 paraols but they're in great demand.
There is a bar on the roof, but no staffed very often, even at busy times, so you have to call reception to get drinks bought up.
Talking of drinks ... you now get a voucher for a beer or Sangria welcome drink.
There is also a very small gym in a room on the roof, by the pool, but only about 3 machines in there.
The staff spoke a little bit of English, particularly reception staff, but you'd be wise to know a little bit of Spanish.
The staff were all very nice and polite.
The breakfast was great, lots of choice. Definitely recommended.

The hotel rooms are also well sound insulated, we hardly heard any noise from the other rooms and in spite of being opposite the lift, still no noise from that area.

As long as you're OK walking 20 minutes to the old town I'd definitely recommend this hotel, and I've been lucky to stay in quite a few 4 star hotels in my life.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We travelled from the Costa Del sol to stay and found that the hotel was very well sign posted from the motorway. There was plenty of free parking on the side streets around the hotel area. Hotel is within easy walking distance to the shopping area & old town. we felt very safe walking around till late at night. The rooms are very clean and large with excellent bathrooms. The breakfast was plentiful with a good range of food. Breakfast is served until 11 at the weekend which is an advantage for the nightowls !
There are plenty of lively bars situated adjacent to the hotel but.the most enjoyable part of our stay was relaxing around the infinity pool on the roof of the hotel cooling off from the 43 degrees heat ! We would recommend two restaurants, for those of you who enjoy modern med food. el agua cero, plaza De San Miguel & Amaltea, Ronda de Isasa, 10

As we rely on Trip Advisor reviews, we chose Hotel Cordoba Center and we were not disappointed. A great hotel at good value for money in the heart of Cordoba. Excellent service, parking available next to the hotel (1 Euro /day in the public parking).
