“Luxurious but not the best value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2014

The hotel is situated in a beautifully renovated palace with a lovely outdoor patio. It was a 10 - 15 minute walk to the Mezquita. It is very easy to get lost in Cordoba with all it's narrow streets. The map we got from the hotel wasn't great, I suggest you find a tourist bureau and get a map from them. Other than to the Medina you can see all the sights on foot.
It was very hot when we visited and the cold pool was a welcome relief. It was a small pool and the area around it was small, there were few chairs and one time we had to go back to our room as there wasn't space for us.
Breakfast was super expensive at €24 for what was a standard buffet. There was no tea or coffee in the room and if you wanted to order a cup by room service then there was a €4 service fee.
The hotel and it's rooms were luxurious but for the price I don't think it was value for money compared with my stays in other top end boutique hotels.

Stayed here for 2 nights in late June. The hotel lived up to its rating, well located within the city, although not the easiest to find by car on arrival.

We stayed in a superior room, which was excellent in terms of size and facilities. Although we ate out each night, the breakfasts were very good in terms of choice, quantity, quality and service. Overall the staff were excellent, not in your face, but always on hand and efficient when required.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Cordoba.

Room Tip: Superior rooms worth the upgrade

When one charges as much as this place does then EVERYTHING must be right. Sadly this was not the case. The much vaunted roman bath was in poor repair, the spa service friendly but not really world class. ON the plus side the reception staff and swimming pool waiter were excellent , charming and most helpful. The Hotel is very expensive with loads of hidden extra charges so if one is not careful the bill on check out could be hairy! Luckily its location in Cordoba is very good, no need to eat in the hotel.
Swimming pool is on the small side so one has to be lucky to get a spot in the sun.

Room Tip: Dont use the spa

Stayed at this Cordoba Hotel for two nights during a tour of Andalucía and have to say it was my favourite Hotel of the holiday. Near to the heart of the city the hotel offers a surprising oasis of calm and relaxation, being an attractive historic building with central flower gardens and pool area in which to wind down. Our bedroom (Deluxe) was clean, peaceful, sympathetically decorated and air conditioned with a modern separate bathroom area (fully tiled with free standing bath and large shower enclosure). Breakfast was good as regards quality and quantity with an English option being available. Valet car parking was available at a cost which proved very useful. Only small irritation was that the free Wi-fi did not work.

Can't say enough of this great hotel. The building, rooms and pool are excellent for this part of Spain. The renovation is first class, and the staff very good. 2 nights in Cordoba staying here worth it.
The place to stay in Cordoba.

Room Tip: some rooms better than others due to its uniqueness

We arrived to a warm welcome including fruit water and a tour around the hotel. Our car was parked for us and our questions superbly answered. We were in room 127 above the courtyard which we loved, it was bright and airy and large with a comfortable big bed and large bathroom.
Staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. We stayed here for two nights and had dinner the first night sitting outside which was lovely. The food was superb as was the wine and waiter service, one of the best meals of our 10day holiday in Spain, we highly recommend it. Breakfast is also good and plentiful!
The pool area was absolutely lovely to relax around and made our stay here even better. The Roman baths were also fantastic we used them both evenings before dinner to relax and unwind, perfect after a days sightseeing-a must do if staying at the hotel.
The hotel is in a perfect location for sightseeing, shopping and eating! You can take a gentle stroll pretty much around the whole of cordoba in a few days. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here, we would return and would highly recommend to others visiting Cordoba.

Room Tip: We were in room 127 and loved it if that helps!

Fantastic hotel structure, but bewilderingly eclectic service and refreshments
Hard to really describe, very warm and helpful welcome, we enjoyed excellent freshly made tapas for lunch, a really great relaxing spa and were looking forward to dinner in the hotel, proceeded by an excellent G&T and fantastic starter but lukewarm (literally) main course which felt like it came from an entirely different kitchen, and left us a bit deflated after such a promising start
In the morning a truly fabulous breakfast with an amazing array of real Spanish treats, really impressive and very fresh, just great
Plenty of keen staff but it all feels a bit disjointed, appears to lack a dominant MD or someone to co-ordinate proceedings, not a big deal but so close to being really special with a bit of focus
