Very warm and friendly welcome - had been emailing questions in advance with excellent responses with regard to booking special taster menu dinner on the Saturday night. Able to leave suitcases after having welcome free fruit tea and go off and explore. Returned to check in to amazing room which was almost too good to leave. However to miss out on the outdoor pool area of original subterranean Roman pools would have been unforgiveable. So refreshing to dip in and cool off - not for swimming in more for floating in. Towelling robes to dry off in and relax by the pool with waiter service too. Dinner was absolutely to die for - 45 Euros for five courses with unlimited wine, beer & water - Vegetable Salad with cured meat, Parmesan Ravioli with wild mushrooms, Cod fish with green peas & wasabi, Pork Sirloin with carrot & coconut cream and then Creamy Chocolate, yogurt sauce & black sesame ice cream - all accompanied with gorgeous Spanish guitar playing in a restaurant with glass floor over lit Roman ruins.

Room Tip: Off the outside courtyard - very quiet.

We were much impressed by the noble and relaxing atmosphere of the hotel.
The welcome drink and those charming rose petals on the bed soothed our mind and body.
We've enjoyed the excellent dinner in the patio and pleasant talk with the hotel director,
El Senor Alberto, in Japanese!
The dessert was also terrific!!
Ha sido muy amable.!Muchas gracias!
! Hasta siemple !

We travelled with friends to Cordoba and Granada and stayed in this hotel. Our friends had selected it as it was during a "special" birthday.

The hotel reception and public area is a good balance of classic Spain and modern minimalist, the location is good and the outside pool is great for a city centre hotel. Hotel is not really in the old part of town but still convenient.

Would I stay there again, No.

Our room was soulless, smelt of cigarettes and felt slightly out of keeping with an old palace. Service was indifferent. Breakfast was mean. At the prices charged, they only replenished for example the croissant when the plate was empty and then cut them in half in case you took too many.

Cordoba was a delight and would love to visit again if we go to southern Spain again. Recommend a cycle tour to get your bearings and then go and visit all the places in the guide book. Eating out in the city was pleasant, not expensive but nothing remarkable. With that said, we enjoyed our meals in town.

The hotel is situated in a beautifully renovated palace with a lovely outdoor patio. It was a 10 - 15 minute walk to the Mezquita. It is very easy to get lost in Cordoba with all it's narrow streets. The map we got from the hotel wasn't great, I suggest you find a tourist bureau and get a map from them. Other than to the Medina you can see all the sights on foot.
It was very hot when we visited and the cold pool was a welcome relief. It was a small pool and the area around it was small, there were few chairs and one time we had to go back to our room as there wasn't space for us.
Breakfast was super expensive at €24 for what was a standard buffet. There was no tea or coffee in the room and if you wanted to order a cup by room service then there was a €4 service fee.
The hotel and it's rooms were luxurious but for the price I don't think it was value for money compared with my stays in other top end boutique hotels.

Stayed here for 2 nights in late June. The hotel lived up to its rating, well located within the city, although not the easiest to find by car on arrival.

We stayed in a superior room, which was excellent in terms of size and facilities. Although we ate out each night, the breakfasts were very good in terms of choice, quantity, quality and service. Overall the staff were excellent, not in your face, but always on hand and efficient when required.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Cordoba.

Room Tip: Superior rooms worth the upgrade

When one charges as much as this place does then EVERYTHING must be right. Sadly this was not the case. The much vaunted roman bath was in poor repair, the spa service friendly but not really world class. ON the plus side the reception staff and swimming pool waiter were excellent , charming and most helpful. The Hotel is very expensive with loads of hidden extra charges so if one is not careful the bill on check out could be hairy! Luckily its location in Cordoba is very good, no need to eat in the hotel.
Swimming pool is on the small side so one has to be lucky to get a spot in the sun.

Room Tip: Dont use the spa

Stayed at this Cordoba Hotel for two nights during a tour of Andalucía and have to say it was my favourite Hotel of the holiday. Near to the heart of the city the hotel offers a surprising oasis of calm and relaxation, being an attractive historic building with central flower gardens and pool area in which to wind down. Our bedroom (Deluxe) was clean, peaceful, sympathetically decorated and air conditioned with a modern separate bathroom area (fully tiled with free standing bath and large shower enclosure). Breakfast was good as regards quality and quantity with an English option being available. Valet car parking was available at a cost which proved very useful. Only small irritation was that the free Wi-fi did not work.
