Luxurious relaxation

From check in to departure nothing is too much for Alberto and his staff. Beautiful rooms, very well appointed. Very clean. Fabulous bathrooms with superior accessories. Daily water and snavks de
Invented to room. Superb air conditioning. Great wifi works everywhere, in a very old building. Tastefully restored. Beautiful outdoor seating and dining options. And then there's the spa, bliss. We will definitely be back, again

This was maybe the nicest hotel during out entire European visit. Amazing, romantic rooms, our own private garden, great service and a bottle of free Cava waiting for us in our room on arrival. A little tricky to get to but well worth the effort. A plus !!!

This is the second Hospes hotel we have stayed at on our trip to Andalusia, and as usual all amenities are to a very high standard. All staff are polite and friendly and seem genuinely interested in guests getting the most out of their stay. We were shown around the hotel, and the Roman remains that are preserved under the door of the indoor dining room.We used taxis a lot to get around as negotiating the narrow streets was a bit challenging for us, but we had great recommendations of places to visit and eat. Breakfast was relaxed and plentiful, the cooked elements were very good. We also tried the gourmet dinner the first night, the only thing I found slightly disappointing as my scallops starter and fish were undercooked for my taste, but OH enjoyed his duck and dessert, excellent service by the waiters. Lovely hotel, a real treat.

Stayed for my husbands birthday in mid July. Very hot but everything about the hotel was cool and sophisticated. From the restaurant with the glass floor over the Roman ruins to the courtyard garden with pool this a lovely Romantic city break worth taking.

It is a great palace only 10 minutes walking distance at max from all the places you want to visit. Pool is nice, breakfast is good but the architect who did a great job in combining history and modern style failed a bit when it comes to the standard double rooms: Toilet is squeezed between glas door and shower, water is escaping the shower and floods the toilet area, soap smells good but is hard to use because there is no right place to put it. Nice painting of the walls but wooden floor is not intact in the room. For five stars one could expect a bit more diligence.
Nevertheless: Four points!

We were driving and the hotel is a little tricky to find as it sits in the middle of the old city, but when we arrived we were delighted with our choice. The hotel is beautiful and serene, perhaps we were lucky as we had chosen a deluxe room for our 3 night stay, which turned out to be on the ground floor of the hotel on the way to the spa, so relatively secluded (room 21) the room was well appointed with a lovely feel and although not overly large, perfectly comfortable, however the bathroom was a a very good size and again beautiful in its design. The room also looked out on to the Orangery and pool through shuttered windows, a lovely view. With the windows shutters closed the room was extremely dark and quiet. We eat in the restaurant twice and I will review that separately, breakfast was very good with a good selection but perhaps for some a little expensive at €22 per head. We used the spa for a massage each was good, but not exceptional. We also had complimentary use of the Roman spa, but by appointment. The area in the orangery is very nice, but the pool is cool (which many may prefer on a hot day) and of adequate size. The environment in the Orangery is very peaceful. We found the staff courteous and helpful at all times. Car parking is extra at €26 per day (we knew this when we booked) and parked by valet (you do need to give 30 mins to 1 hour notice when you need the car). The hotel is a 10, 15 or 20 minute walk to all the main sites and there are good local restaurants a short walk away. We had a throughly enjoyable stay and can easily recommend this hotel.
