“Confortable and clean”
Reviewed 20 May 2012

Good price/benefit ratio. The room and bathroom are very clean, the bed comfortable and the location ok. Good breakfast, very nice staff. If you rented a car, prepare yourself to live it two blocks away, and pay 13 euros/day (it is not that easy to find a place on the street) - but not a big deal. You can hear noise from other rooms (for example, flush), but we had no noise neighbours, so we had good nights of sleep.

Hotel Serrano has a good location in a quiet residential area only a 10 minute walk from the train station. It is a pleasant 15 minute walk on a pedestrian street to the Mezquita. On the way is an El Cortes Ingles, and there are numerous markets in the area. If you do not want to stay in a noisy and crowded center, then this is a good location for you.

The single room is very small, but did not feel claustrophobic, and I did not notice with my eyes closed. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is consistently small. The shower has good hot water and liquid soap, but may be difficult for someone with a disability to enter. The towel was a bit shabby. The hotel is clean, which is my major requirement. The receptionist was nice, but not very knowledgable. There is a computer for internet in the lobby, with a one hour minimum charge, but there is a Locutorio around the corner.

My main complaint is that the walls are paper thin. I could hear every word spoken in the neighboring room. If not for this I would have given the hotel a higher rating.

Nice hotel not far from main places of interest (about 10 min walking) and to the train/bus station, room was very clean, with a lot of space. There was a sofa and two beds in our twin room (but I'm not sure if all double rooms are so commodious).
The hairdryer is against a 10 euro deposit. Only one dispenser with soap in the bathroom (above the sink) and nothing in the shower cabin (no gel of shampoo in the individual packages or in the dispenser). No heated towel rail.
I'd defenitely reccomend this hotel.

Went to this hotel because of trip adivser reviews and was not dissapointed.
great location, very clean, great staff, made to feel very welcome and staff always helpful.Breakfast buffet very good with good selection of items.
Hotel only 10 min walk from train station, straight forward.
Turn left once outside of station on to Avieneda de Americas, keep walking straight a head, you'll see the hotel sign,it's that easy.
If your staying for more that 1/2 nights you may find the rooms a little small, apart from that it's well worth a visit.

Room Tip: If you do stay there ask for a room away from the lift, you can here people coming and going.

I stayed at the Hotel Serrano in October of 2011, and was pleasently surprised. I was a bit sceptic because of the 2 stars only. The rooms were clean and of a good size. We had a twin room with an extra bed, and the beds, even the extra one, were good. Breakfast was included in the roomrate and it was decent enough.
Exellent location. Just a short walk to the railway station, shopping and the old town. Lots of restaurants near by.
The only thing we weren't to happy about was a strange smell throughout the hotel that we never managed to find out what was.
It would be nice though if the staff were i little bit better at speaking English.
I probably would stay here again if I'm ever to revisit Cordoba.

The hotel was further than expected. The staff was friendly and could speak English. The room was clean and of a good size. However, WIFI is not free and it was noisy as there was construction work outside our window. The breakfast was ok, basic like bread, cornflakes, ham and cheese. Overall, value for money.

Room Tip: rooms not facing the main street

We booked this hotel for the second time and this experience was even better than the first.
Our expectations were of a hotel for night to show our adult niece our beloved Cordoba.

The gentleman at the reception desk was nice and gave us a nice and warm welcome to the hotel. All staff was kind and friendly to tourists and ensuring we made our best of our stay in Cordoba pointing us to the "must see" places.

During both occasions we got newly spacious remodeled rooms with nice linens and an incredible all glass shower and marble with nice amenities. The price of the room included a European breakfast which was fine with us since we are not big breakfast people.

The hotel is walking distance to everything. There is outdoor dining everywhere and cafeterias as well as designer and good name brands stores.

This hotel is also a walking distance to the train station and to the cathedral and main tourist attractions in Cordoba.

We recommend this hotel couples, families and all.
