“excellent value in perfect location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 December 2013

We spent two nights here in November. The location, directly behind the Mezquita and an easy walk to all other Cordoba attractions, was perfect. The hotel itself was charming, lovely reception rooms and vaulted atrium. Breakfast was fine. The rooms were old fashioned but for the price more than adequate. The WiFi was free in the lobby areas and, maybe due to the location of our room, we were able to get it in our room as well. The bedding and pillows were actually the best we have experienced in Spain, even at much pricier hotels. A definite recommendation even for visitors who are not on a budget.

Booked this hotel after reading reviews on TripAdvisor and were not dissapointed. It's location right opposite the Mezquita and above the river meant everything was very handy, especially for an early morning walk to watch the sunrise from the other side of the river.
Nice size room with window out onto the little square rather than into the interior courtyard meant we had 'fresh' air but I did get woken by the restaurant next door dragging tables about in the early hours, my fault for going to bed too early!
Travelled by train so no problem with parking, about 15 min walk from train station.
The little cafe attached to the hotel do great cakes!
Only negative comment is that the staff did not explain to us clearly enough that they could book tickets to local attractions and events until we were about to leave...

Picked this hotel for its location and we were not disappointed as it was just across the road from the Mezquita whose walls were opposite our bedroom window. Typical Spanish hotel, lovely reception and lounge areas and room was very comfortable and staff very helpful in suggesting and making bookings for local events. A little cafe next door is a great place for coffee/breakfast. A couple of downsides. The hotel is right in the old town and it is almost impossible to get there by car. You need to know how in detail and you have to go through various no entry signs and through a barrier. Make sure you get detailed instructions from the hotel or better still just drive as close as Sat Nav will take you and then walk the last 100-200 yards. The other thing we found was that the room was quite noisy as although general traffic is not allowed in the historic area there was a steady steam of taxis coming past which seemed quite noisy. You also have to pay €15 for parking in a car park although there is free on street parking about 5-10 minutes walk away.

I chose this hotel because of its location directly across from the Mezquita and the seeming convenience of approaching by car compared to many other hotels in Cordoba. It did not disappoint - it was very easy to reach from the highway and to find the nearby parking lot where they had reserved a spot for our rental car. The hotel itself has tons of historic character and our room, with a courtyard view, was beautiful. Staff was very helpful and good-natured about our terrible attempts to communicate in Spanish. My only complaint was that it was a bit noisy in the morning facing the courtyard.

small historic hotel next to the mesquita and a few feet from the head of the roman bridge; perfect location for exploring the historic neighborhood of cordoba,
room is quiet, comfortable and sufficiently furnished, helpful and well-informed staff; small cafe serves light food and pastries, coffee and alcoholic beverages until the early evening hours.
wifi connection can be problematic at times, particularly in the room.

We spent two nights at this lovely boutique hotel. We loved the intimate feel of this community. The hotel is across from the wall of the Meziquita and close to other main sightseeing attractions. The hotel is adjacent to the most wonderful bakery. The only downside was the free WiFi only seemed to be available in the hotel lobby.

I stayed in this hotel in 2011 and accidently took the room's key with me. I informed the hotel by email that my friends are going to stay at the hotel (September 2013) and will bring them the key. They were so friendly and gave them a welcome drink and chocolates to thank them. I would definitely recommend this hotel, not only because of its location next to the Mezquita, but because the staff is so friendly and professional.
