Owner description: Watch tower from the eighteenth century, situated in the down town and the highest point of the city, turned today into a focal point of cultural interest. The tower has two exhibition halls, the Camera Obscura and the terrace from which you can enjoy wonderful views of CádizIts Cámara Obscura was the first one installed in Spain.

“Definitely worth a visit.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2013

I went up the Torre Tavira after spending almost 15 days in Cadiz. Definitely worth a visit! When I saw the
magnificent view of the City I wished I did it before. Get your cameras ready, it is very tempting to record that moment. We stayed up there almost for an hour, half an hour inside the tower; learning about the history of the city & enjoying the camera obscura, and the other half photographing the beautiful porous texture of the city.
There is an entrance fee, but it is worth it.

“Great view of the town”

Climb the tower and enjoy the view of Cadiz from the top. The camera obscura was fun to see but for us it was looking at the view from the top of the tower.

“Check this place out”

Gives you a nice history of Cadiz, museum style, but make sure you go in the camera obscura for a different view of Cadiz, then make your way to the top of the tower for some stunning views

“Must do in Cadiz! Great for families.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 November 2013

Never knew how a city or town could be viewed so magnificently from the "camara oscura"!
Friendly reception, Climb about 60 steps, enjoy informative photos and exhibition shots on all levels of the watchtower. The simple science of lense and mirror refraction via a "periscope design" enthralled all!
One feels like a spy observing the city below in LIVE TIME.
Unforgettable and I shall be discovering other Camera Oscuras across Europe whenever we travel again!

“Great and informative!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 November 2013

After climbing few steps (it's not that high, but after all Cadiz is not NYC), passing by some exhibition informative photos, you will reach the top of the tower with beautiful view over Cadiz. White houses and blue sea and skies create amazing picture, especially when there is a clear sky (many days like that in Cadiz!). Just below the top floor there is a small rom where the show takes place. camera obscura is amazing! And the guides are very friendly and knowledgable, they are funny too!
Definitely worth visiting!
