Owner description: Watch tower from the eighteenth century, situated in the down town and the highest point of the city, turned today into a focal point of cultural interest. The tower has two exhibition halls, the Camera Obscura and the terrace from which you can enjoy wonderful views of CádizIts Cámara Obscura was the first one installed in Spain.

This was a very interesting and informative visit. Be warned that there are a lot of stairs, including spiral ones, to climb. Go to the toilet in the basement before you start and you will be OK! Whilst we waited for an English tour (tour is not the right word as you stand in the dark around a large dish) we looked round the, quite basic, exhibition and went up onto the flat roof. The views over Cadiz were fantastic. The 'tour' itself was really interesting, with about 20 of us gathered round the dish. The guide was very informative and interesting and spoke alternatively in Spanish and English. Recommended visit.

We searched this camera obsura out as it was in the guide book. The view from the top of the tower was fantastic and I could imagine Sir Francis Drake coming into the harbour. The watch towers thoughout the city could be seen and were interesting. The images were good once we were in the room but I felt if we had been asked to move around the table t follow the view it might have been better (there were only 10 people). As ir was I saw most of the views upside down!

This is a really great attraction particularly the camera obscura. I was not sure whether to visit the tower and it was bottom of the list of things I wanted to do in Cadiz but actually I think I should have visited it sooner and spent longer. Firstly from the top you can get an excellent orientation around what is fundamentally a confusing place to find your way around. Secondly the guide gave a really good and interesting explanation of the city and its past as well as showing us the camera and telling about the tower

Very informative and great to get to know some history of Cádiz. The Cámara Oscura is also pretty amazing and the guide for the cámara was very funny and quirky. Definitely recommended for anyone visiting Cádiz. Also one of the few places from which one can see La Bella Escondida tower. The ascent up the tower is not very hard as the stairs are shallow and easy to climb.

Nice option to spend afternoon and see the city from above. They have excursions in different languages, but even spanish is understandable, cause the guide shows everything very thoroughly. Pleasant view from the roof, cheap and interesting entertainment.
