Nice hotel for the price but certainly not 4 stars as advertised, at least not by American standards. Room was clean and spacious, beds were comfortable, staff were friendly and the hotel is in a decent location. The downside and why it doesn't deserve a higher rating, in my opinion: (1) there was wi-fi only available in the lobby/cafeteria, not in the rooms. (2) my room had two windows but they both faced concrete walls, allowing no view. (3) there was no pool but there were 3 jacuzzi tubs on the roof which was nice but the water wasn't warmed, the one had lots of sand in it and they closed the roof at 8pm, well before sunset. (4) Restaurant is quite good but very expensive, especially for breakfast; however, we had an issue with billing that we didn't realize until afterwards...we were in town for a family wedding and a few other American guests of the wedding were also staying at this hotel. My family ate lunch inside the cafeteria area where another family was dining outside on the patio. When our bill came, it seemed quite high but we didn't speak enough Spanish to question it so we paid it and left. Only later when talking with the other family did we determine that the waiter put the food/drinks for both tables all on one bill, despite that both groups weren't together. When the second family asked for their bill, they were told that we paid it for them...odd and utterly unacceptable given that we didn't ask them to do so!

Room Tip: anything with a view - ours was in a corner and had NO view!

Stayed here for 1 month with work, great food and service. Underground car park fine but tricky access. 2 mins walk to los portales central area of town with bars and good seafood places. Train station is very close by with quick links to Jerez, Seville and Cadiz

We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst touring southern Spain. The quality of the hotel, staff, and food exceeded all expectations. The internal courtyard was a haven of tranquility. Our bedroom was very comfortable, with a door opening onto the gallery above the courtyard with wicker table and chairs. All the hotel was scrupulously clean and the staff, charming. The breakfasts were fabulous and a wide choice, with no need to eat again until the evening! We ate in the restaurant one of the evenings and again it was excellant and very reasonable for the quality of food. - darling restaurant manager. The hotel underground parking was a god send. Will definitely stay there again. Well worth excursions to go on are - the city tour and bodega visit and the boat over to Cadiz.

Room Tip: Ask for one over looking the courtyard.

Delightful hotel just away from the centre of El Puerto. The public rooms are spacious with quality furnishings. The room we stayed in was a nice size and well equipped. The staff are polite and helpful. Nothing we had was overpriced as in some hotels. We didn’t have a car so I don’t know what the parking is like but for public transport it’s very handy for buses and trains.
El Puerto is a nice quiet town (in November) and it’s easy to visit Cadiz and Jerez for the day.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our roadtrip around southern spain. The hotel is in a great location if you’re a Sherry Wine and Brandy lover, as this area is home to some of the largest Bodega’s including Terry and Osbourne’s.

My only negative about the hotel, was that there was no view from our room whatsoever, but if your out all day this may not bother you. There was a window but it was high up.

The hotel was quite old fashioned (according to us 30 year olds) but immaculate and the customer service was fantastic.

If you want some tips on a Spain roadtrip, I have added some to my blog http://littleblondebird-rosie.blogspot.com/2011/11/road-tip-spain-october-2011.html

We found an amazing Italian ice cream shop in Puerto Santa Maria on Calle Luna called Da Massimo (that deliver’s too!) flavours included Nutella, Cheesecake and Ferraro Rocher - very yummy

On our first evening we took a short dive over to Puerto Sherry as we were told it was the best location to watch the sunset – it was beautiful. There there are some trendy bars and restaurants here too.

And if you fancy a trip to Cadiz, don't drive take the Catermaran

Dear Guest,
At first we want to thanks your stay and the information about the hotel.
We are pleased to know that your stay has been good and that your impression was successful. Our idea is to provide a great and traditional service and provide the technology needed for each day. We believe that the high-tech hotel lost a lot of personality.
Best regards,
Alvaro Casal

We stayed two nights in this lovely hotel. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely. We ate in the hotel restaurant both nights and had and excellent meal both times. The town isn't much but we had day trips to Cadiz and Jerez which we very much enjoyed.
