Just come back from a week's stay here (last week of September). Although built recently, this hotel feels nice and Spanish and quirky with loads of pictures on the walls, antique ornaments in old fashioned wooden cabinets, an ancient piano etc. As other reviews say, really helpful staff including in the bar who turned out a nice meal for us, even tho' we had arrived from the airport 10 minutes after the 10.30 closing time. The house wine is great and reasonably priced too!
We loved the garden with the 3 pools, smaller ones for toddlers and kids, larger one for adults. Plenty of sunbeds and shade and lovely flowers.
Interesting location. Wonderful pine forest to walk to beaches but although nearest beach is immaculate and huge, it is overlooked by industrial factories of Puerto and Cadiz! So better to walk round to the right and along 2 beaches (past the marina) to another big beach which really does overlook the Atlantic. More surf here so perhaps less suitable for kids?
The rooms a bit outdated- beds were too hard for us but plenty of wardrobe space, decent bathroom, good shutters for the heat , good air con etc
Loved Puerto de la Santa Maria- not as picture perfect as Cadiz but loads of lovely old buildings, squares. Great food- do try the shrimp tortillana
I'd say this is a hotel for a week stay maximum rather than a fortnight family annual holiday. Also welcoming for people on their own
