The resort had big rooms with great views. The pool area is very large with slides and a pool bar. The hotel is across the street from the beach and is a short walk. There are many convenience stores around the resort that make it easy to get things to cook in your room. The area is very inexpensive and we found eating out and the bars very affordable. We took a day trip to Granada which was very worth it. On the way back we got off at the first hotel stop and took a $15 euro cab ride the rest of the way to avoid another 45 minutes in the bus doing drop offs. You should definately take the local bus to Mijas (the town, not Mijas Costa). It was the most scenic place we went in all of Spain! The bus ride was only $3 a person round trip and it was a pretty ride up the mountain. The restaurant in Pueblo Quinta (the other part of the Royal Oasis resort) had the best spanish food that we had the entire time in Spain, and it wasn't too expensive. FYI, you do have to pay for electricity, however, it is not expensive. We conserved using our AC unit and then when we checked out , it was only 6 euros for the week. If we had known that then we would have run the AC more!
