From the airport pickup (thanks Steve), the house itself, its location within Estepona and indeed the entire South coast of Spain, our trip here was brilliant!
We were a family party of 7 with extended family living locally so the layout of the house worked really well. Living, loo and kitchen downstairs, bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs meant we were able to have family and friends over for meals and a swim without tripping over everything and everyone.
The BBQ is well worth using, big enough to cook for a large group (ensure you have at least a 5kg bag of coals!) and nothing beats a grill by the pool.
Location-wise, lets just say that we saw little of our teenagers as they found the short 3 mins walk to the Port and its various bars, restaurants and weekend market too much to resist. Local car hire from Espacar allowed us to cover Gibraltar (40mins), Malaga (55mins) and Ronda (an hour or so) over three days so we saw everything we wanted to.
Locally, the Port taxi rank and local bus service meant we could get anywhere quickly and easily (like the massive CarreFour where the seafood selection etc was exceptional). Eating wise, Chiringuito Havana on Playa Cristo was great, La Escollera just beyond the main Port had exceptional seafood, Chiringuito Paco on the main boulevard was great for a late night meal and for something more upmarket then Taberna Miguel in the old sector had amazing paella among other real Spanish delicacies. The local SuperSOL (2min walk) covered all our daily shopping needs.
Tanya was fantastic, despite being on holiday herself she still made herself available if we needed her.
Highly recommended and we will return when the family gathers again.
