“Nice stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

Stayed just 3 days in July. Disappointed at arriving to hear that the hotel only received our booking that day but we booked via Expedia 1 month before. We struggled into reception with 2 suitcases a 2 golf bags with no help offered. The one bag trolley was in use! Also found out that the guy stood outside chatting up a lady guest was part of the reception team. Not an impressive start. Finally got to the room that was twin and not the double bed booked.

That aside the hotel is good, nice spacious clean room with great sea views. Excellent breakfast quality and selection. Good quality food at reasonable prices by the pool. Usual standard of kids and adult entertainment each night. Walk to the marina with many bars and restaurants catering for families about 10 to 15 mins walk. Estepona is a very nice family destination and the H10 a good choice.

Room Tip: Check they have received your bookings nod have the bed option booked.

Dear guest,
Thank you for trusting us for your holidays, for taking time to share your opinion and rating us.
We are really happy to read that liked the hotel, the space and cleanliness of rooms, the views, the quality and selection for the buffet breakfast and food and pricing of food by the pool.

We apologize for missing your needs with the bags at the entrance, we will give the reception team your regrets. Also our apologies if you not received a room with double beds as you requested. We try to provide what guests request in their bookings, but unfortunately if you did not have it was because it was not possible.

We would be delighted to welcome you once again and please don’t forget to recommend us.
Until next time.

We arrived at the Estepona Palace on the 4th of July following a day in Malaga. We were supposed to be greeted by a personal check-in as we upgraded to the Privilege Package. There was no one at the door to welcome us, nor did we receive the complimentary champagne or personal check in. We simply went through the normal process at the front desk and received our keys. We walked ourselves and our luggage to our room on the 3rd floor. Based upon other reviews that we had read, I had requested a room on the 3rd floor or above. We were very pleasantly surprised by the fact that our request was honored. The room was very spacious and well appointed. We had a huge bathroom and extra large private terrace overlooking the Mediterranean. The air conditioning only works when you place the room key in the slot near the door. We always kept one key in the slot allowing the room to stay cool throughout our stay. At night we were able to open the sliding glass door and window so we could listen to the sea as we fell asleep. Additionally, there was a sliding window in the shower which allowed us to look out at the sea as we took our showers. This was a very cool treat ! If we never left our room, this review would look very different, however, there is more to share. Here is the rest of the story:

The Privilege Package is a waste of money. You are supposed to have the opportunity to access a special lounge which was to be stocked with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Unfortunately, the choice of alcohol was less than stellar and seemed watered-down. Snacks were also supposed to be available however they were very limited and less than fresh. Only one of the two computers in the lounge worked, and you were unable to print as it was not hooked up to the machine. There was also a special lounging area closer to our room that had a refrigerator full of non-alcoholic beverages and apples. We were also given a one time entrance to the spa. While I did not take advantage of this service, my partner did. Having been to spas at various other resorts, he came back very disappointed. He paid for a deep tissue massage that was nothing more than a weak rub down. Additionally, he was given a paper and string bathing suit to wear while in the spa. Seriously. Please so not waste your money on the Privilege package...it is a waste of money.

We also paid for breakfast each morning during our stay. The food available was good and varied. Mimosas were available each day. However, there were often days when it took 5-10 minutes for someone to come to our table to ask if we wanted coffee. The wait staff was less than friendly and appeared to be bothered by our requests and presence.

The only evening we decided to have dinner at the resort we noticed a bunch of napkins and other trash items sitting right off the terrace from our table. The next morning, it was still there as no one had picked them up. I took a picture of this and may add it later. The meal was less than stellar...I would definitely not choose the all-inclusive option if this is the food consistently served in the buffet.

The pool area was nice and clean, but the hours of use were very limited. One pool was heated, one pool was not. They would always close the non-heated pool almost an hour before the other. Lounge chairs were plentiful, however, if you didn't get out early enough to save one, there were none available. Policy states that you may not save seats....but that is not enforced at all.

We avoided the pool area and chose to lounge by the sea. Most days we were able to secure two loungers under an umbrella, however, people also were leaving towels to save them in this area as well. The beach was very rocky, making it very difficult to swim. There was a public beach about 5 minutes away that was less rocky, but it was a public beach.

We had a rental car because we were doing several day trips. We were able to find parking each day for free, but it was across the street in a small lot. There was parking in the front of the resort, however employees of the resort seemed to be using those spots.

There were several bars at the resort, however they had strange hours and were expensive. I had a mojito one day that was not made at the bar but rather in a room behind the bar. It was nothing more than a margarita with a few pieces of mint thrown in the cup.

Having been to numerous all-inclusive resorts in Cabo, Cancun, and Riviera Maya, Mexico, this resort does not even come close the service and quality that we received in Mexico. This was supposed to be a 4 star resort...in Mexico, it would be 2.5 to 3 at best. Either Europeans are not very demanding, or they don't know what is happening in other areas of the world.

The fact that we were taking day trips every other day made this a tolerable experience. We would definitely do a European trip differently next time. If you are looking for a relaxing, all-inclusive resort experience, I strongly recommend you look to Mexico or the Caribbean instead. The quality of food, drink, and outstanding service could not be matched here in Estepona.

The place was packed with people from all over Europe...I am guessing they have no idea what lies across the pond.

Room Tip: 3rd floor or above !

Dear customer,
Thank you for trusting us for your holiday, taking time to share your opinion and for rating.
We are really happy to know liked your rooms, the space, the views and the possibility to hear de sea each night. Also that you liked the food at the buffet restaurant.
Reading your negative opinions, where are really sorry they were not mentioned during your stay, so we could have stopped providing the privilege service during your stay.
We do not have doorman service, and once you arrive to reception, you can find a separate area were we provide the personalized Privilege Check-in, as in the check-in we offer everyone the welcome drinks.
The privilege service is worth the money if what guests are looking for is the following:
Privilege Lounge with free drinks and snack service, 55” LED TV, Internet and daily newspaper service, access to the new Privilege Solarium, reserved table in our Alborán Restaurant throughout your stay so you do not have to wait if any queues have been formed in the entrance, one free visit per person per stay to the Despacio Spa Centre water circuit (minimum stay of 3 nights required) and exclusive 10% discount on treatments, rooms are cleaned and prepared twice a day, À la carte Room Service with no service charge, personalised check-in and check-out, late check-out until 5 pm (subject to availability), guest Service at your disposal, room with terrace and views of the sea and swimming pool (equipped with sun loungers and parasol), Welcome gift in the room, dressing gown, slippers, VIP amenities and exclusive pool towel, Nespresso coffee machine, iPod, iPhone and MP3 dock with radio clock, pillow top mattress and pillow menu, free safe, daily newspapers and weather forecast.
We consider a wide range of spirits (10 diferent types), besides beer and wines. Not watered down (there is no need for that, remember we have international brands for the all inclusive service). Each morning we provide pastries in the morning and snacks in the evening, freshly prepared daily.
Sorry If the Spa treatment was not being as expected, but analyzing with the spa team, you partner had a feet reflexology treatment instead of a deep tissue massafe, meaning it stimulates de reflex points of the feet, no need making harm.
We provided disposable underware for guests when they finish with the water circuit and go to get a treatment, so can get dry and feel more comfortable. We never provide this as bathing suit, as it is compulsory to enter the water circuit area with a proper bathing suit.
Apologies if at peak moments it took to the a team member between 5-10 minutes to ask you for your coffee needs, and assure you that we always try to please our guests as we want them to have a great stay, as friendliness of staff is the most common opinion within our guests. Also to inform you are team cleans the hotel’s areas frequently a few times a day, to ensure everything is clean.
Yes, we do have opening hours for pools, as there has to be a life guard in our practice of keeping safe our guests; also we ask our guests to please not reserve sunbeds, and if a guest does not find a free one, he/she just has to inform our team member which will find a free one or provide one in the pool area.
The beach is a natural public environment, which cannot be manipulated by the hotel’s team. We can only do something is in the limited area were the town hall let us provide sunbeds and parasols.
Parking is an extra paid service in the hotel’s garage. Everything else is public area, meaning anyone (including staff) has the right to use it.
Our sincere apologies if we did not reach your expectations in service, besides the room.
Just as information, this hotel is not an All Inclusive resort. The all inclusive is the service provided as something “extra” so guests can eat and drink what is stated in this service.
We hope you do visit us in the future again.

My husband and I returned last night from a weeks stay at H10 estepona... Hotel is beautifully clean and very impressive. Due to the location I would recommend the all inclusive option as paying for a cab (or a 20 minute walk to marina or 40 min walk to estepona centre) would become quite expensive and time consuming if you had to eat out for your meals. Also you have to actually get to estepona centre to catch a bus to many places and the bus from near the hotel is very hit and miss! The food is gorgeous and there is plenty on offer and same goes for the drinks, there's an extensive choice of branded spirits, cocktails, cava, wine, beers to choose from and they are given in very generous measures. You have a choice of 3 bars during the day (1 is payable even if youre AI and it seemed to be empty most of the time) The other is the pool bar that serves really nice freshly cooked burgers, pizzas, Chips etc. this bar then closes at 6pm, and the lobby bar that closes at midnight. Therefore once you have been in the restaurant and finished dinner you only have the lobby bar that is open for AI customers. I do agree with the previous reviews that a lot of the staff where quite unfriendly but on the other hand there were a couple in the restaurant and bar who were great.. There is a private beach just off the pool area which is lovely and quiet and we never had a problem trying to find a sunbed at any time... All in all we had a lovely time during our stay but due to its location and lack of shops/ bars around we probably wouldn't return but if you're looking for a beautiful hotel for where to relax fir the week and chill it would be ideal...

Room Tip: We paid extra for a sea view and we were so glad we did.. Room 368 is amazing!

Currently staying at this hotel!! We have 3 days left!! We booked this hotel cause we are going to a wedding nearby so needed a hotel fairly close. We chose this hotel cause it said family friendly and looked amazing. The hotel itself is amazing, lovely white hotel with turrets that are lit up at night. The rooms are lovely spacious and clean with a lovely modern bathroom. The double bed is 2 singles pushed together which is okay but obviously not a double bed!! All areas are kept clean and tidy. If you are coming all inclusive and you like a drink this hotel gives the real stuff jack Daniels Smirnoff vodka ammereto all the brands :) which is very unusual for an all inclusive! Food is good and each day you can watch your desired meat or fish being cooked in front of you! The beach is directly behind the hotel although the sea is a little rocky and rough! Now for the bad bits!!!...... The pool is absolutely freezing, I go away every year and love going in the pool but this one is so cold the only way to get in is to jump in, and the baby pool is even colder!! Although there was kids playing in it my daughter hated it and she refused to go in!! (She is 2) also the pool does not open till 10am this is crazy! I have never been sitting on a sunned waiting till 10am for a pool to open!!!! If you have older children you can not jump in can not use kilos can not throw a ball basically you can swim and that's it no fun in the pool!!!!! So very boring for older children!
the staff are not what we are used to and hardly speak or smile! Some are extremely rude and we met a few other couples who had to complain about the rudeness of the staff :( not good for a supposed to be 4 * hotel!!!! I like to go shopping of an evening and you need to walk a good 45 mins at speed to reach the shops there are no shops at the harbour like some of the staff will tell u!! You need to walk further than the harbour! So overall a beautiful looking hotel but needs new staff and needs a more fun family friendly atmosphere!!!! And a warmer pool!!!! :)

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room 1 or above. There is basement rooms with no view!

Dear customer,
Thank you for trusting us for your holiday, taking time to share your opinion, for rating us and recommending us.
It delights us to read you like the architecture of the hotel, our All inclusive program and the food.
We apologize if opening hours and pool’s water temperature in July did not meet your expectations.
The rules in the swimming pool are for safety, as our guests health and wellbeing in the hotel premises is our responsibility. That is why we cannot allow in the pool area guests doing as they wish if it may ending in an accident.
We are a family friendly hotel, with play ground, mini club and children activities. You also have nature for you, as in the beach you can play to all you like.
Regarding our staff, we apologize if you felt they were somewhat rude, usually all guests pride the friendliness of our team members, which in your case it was not achieved.
Please recommend us and visit us once again. We will be happy to welcome you.

Stayed at the H10 Palace with a group of friends. Starting with the positives: the hotel was very clean and well maintained, the rooms were big and spacious with plenty of wardrobe space, comfy beds and a modern bathroom. Hotel is situated within a 5 minute taxi ride into the Estepona old town where there are lots of lovely restaurants where you can sit outside and mix with the locals. Swimming pool was big and kept clean. There are a few areas where I feel the hotel could improve: the swimming pool does not open until 11am which is something I have not come across before, to me this seems very late. There are also very strict rules, i.e. no ball games in the pool, yet they allow water volleyball as an activity? Children not allowed to wear t-shirts in the pool. The rules are very strict - basically no fun allowed in the pool! Feel this could be relaxed a little. The hotel charges for the use of the safe, and for the use of an ironing service (no irons provided). Only minor criticisms, but feel the hotel could improve a little in these areas. Aside from that, this is a nice, modern hotel, with good food and in a good location. Ideal if you want a week relaxing in the Spanish sun.

It is a pleasure for us to read your positive opinion of cleanliness and maintenance, the room, bed and bathroom and also the location.
We apologize if opening hours are did not meet your expectations.

We stayed here for our anniversary in April. We were instantly impressed with the reception area and the beautiful view. We stayed in a Privilege Room located on the top floor and couldn't have asked for a better view! We had a bottle of champagne in our room and a little car wishing us a happy anniversary which was a nice touch! The room was lovely and clean and my only complaint really was the balcony area. We were disappointed that this wasn't very well maintain and the little planted area was full of weeds. I appreciate this was low season but would still have been nice to have looked a little more cared for.

We only had breakfast at the hotel and ate out the rest of the time. The breakfasts were amazing!!! I've never had so much choice. My favourite was the fresh bakery and all the pastries!! The marina isn't too far from the hotel (a long walk or short taxi ride) with some lovely little bars/restaurants which we really enjoyed.

I would certainly recommend this hotel!!

Beautiful, large and clean hotel with a rather large pool garden and access to a quiet beach. We had a standard room on the 6th floor in the western wing of the hotel with two seaview balconies, one of them large, facing the adjoining resort and evening sun. A beautiful view over to Gibraltar. Our room was spacious and very quiet but we had read room tips saying that rooms right above the show room (in the eastern wing) were very noisy in the evening. Our sole complaint regarding the room was the A/C, although we had it on the whole time the air in the room was always very stuffy.
Pool garden was beautiful with two larger pools and one kiddy pool. The pools are open from 11am to 7pm. Pool garden opens to a quiet although a little bit rocky beach. A 5 minutes walk to Playa del Cristo which is a more sandy beach.
Although the hotel rules state that you are not allowed to reserve sunbeds by the pool, guests nevertheless do so early in the morning. After 9am it seems like all the sunbeds are taken although only about 10% of them are actually in use until around 11am when the pool opens. The hotel does nothing to prevent this.
There is a pool bar/restaurant which had good food and plenty of tables, both inside and outside. The lobby bar was comfortable to sit in and every night there was a show going on which we though never attended but seemed to be popular with children. The chill-out bar is a beautiful lounge, open from 7pm, with a majestic view over to Gibraltar (and Marocco on a clear day). As everywhere else in Spain, there are no designated areas for smoking, therefore you are exposed to (a rather lot of) smoking when lying by the pool or sitting outside in the bars.
There is a gym included in the price of the room. The spa seemed nice but we did not try it and it is not included in the price of a standard room.
Hotel seems to be understaffed, despite the very friendly staff being truly hardworking and trying their best. This is especially apparent during the breakfast buffet (we did not go all-inclusive), where the glasses and plates were routinely dirty or missing.
The wi-fi is included in the price of the standard room. Our room though had a terrible wi-fi connection but even when connected to the wi-fi in other hotel locations, including the lobby, the internet was so slow it was practically useless. We tried this with multiple devices and informed the hotel staff which could not fix the problem.
The location of the hotel is fairly remote but to us this was an advantage. Since most of the larger hotels are situated outside of the center of Estepona, the center still retains that Spanish charm, more than many of the other beach towns around. From the hotel there is about a 20 minute walk to the harbor where there are a lot of good restaurants and very nice atmosphere, although more touristic than the center. It probably takes around 40 minutes to walk to the center of Estepona, we usually took a taxi, about a 5 minutes drive for ca 8 euros each way.
There is ample parking at the hotel with spaces outside and also paid parking in the garage.
All-in-all we had a very nice stay at H10 Estepona Palace.

We are glad to read you like the hotel, location, space, cleanliness, pool gardens, your room and views, our restaurants and bars. This means we have achieve in your holidays what we aim our effort to, our guests having a good holiday.
What we do is ask for our guests not to reserve sunbeds so everyone can enjoy them. To provide sunbeds, our team is prepared to find an empty one in the pool area or bring you one as guests ask them. This way we compensate the practice some guests have of sunbed reservation.
Our apologies if in some peak times service was not what you expected, and for the possible internet failure during your stay.
All-in we appreciate all our guest opinions and feel really happy of offering you a very nice stay.
