“La Resina Resort, Estepona”
Reviewed 14 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We have recently been to Spain and stayed for a week in the penthouse apartment at La Resina Resort, the apartment was beautiful. The upstairs balcony is the highest point at the resort so nothing overlooked us! Behind the apartment building is in the grounds of a safari park and then just mountains, in front is a 9 hole golf course so the views were perfect all around and so peaceful. The resort has a few swimming pools dotted around, which are very well kept, there is a shallow pool just for the kids so we went to the bigger adult pool and didn’t have to worry about children being around when trying to relax.

The apartment had everything we needed (even little soaps, shampoo and moisturizer etc. like you get in a hotel), which was great because I did worry about not taking a travel iron.

The road systems are very confusing out there, we hired a car and I would recommend anyone staying here to do the same as the resort is situated quite far from the main part of Estepona, and due to the road layouts it does make taxi’s a bit more expensive. Also, ask for directions to the nearest Mercedona, which is the big supermarket out there, which is great for good wine! The nearest restaurant is called Playa Bella and it was the best restaurant we went to all week, great food and good wine.

Driving into La Resina, you come across the Club house which is decorated not how you would expect, it was like stepping into a grand stately home! There was a very happy gentleman called William, who made us feel very welcome and helped us when we couldn’t work out how to start the golf buggy. The views around the complex are very nice however there are some buildings that have been abandoned mid construction so there are some cranes left.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone, kids would love the safari park that is right on the (back) door step, we certainly enjoyed it. Looking forward to going back!
