“Arguably one of the best promenades in the world!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014

Estepona's Paseo Maritimo extends for two miles from the eastern edge of the town along its famous Blue Star beach all the way to the Puerto Deportivo. Along its entire length, there are well-tended gardens, many of them speciality cactus gardens. There are also numerous 'chiringuitos' (Beach Bar/Restaurants where you can eat freshly grilled sardines on an open fire) and several play areas for children - and exercise stations for overweight adults. The only disadvantages are the cyclists who zoom between people walking and people with dogs on extendable leads. But somehow, everyone seems to avoid everyone else - and the views across to Gibraltar and North Africa on fine days are superb. The most gratifying aspect of all of this is that the gardens and beach are constantly being tended by municipal workers in smart uniforms. The paseo is one of those places where you just want to keep on walking, walking, walking ....

“Look for the dolphins”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2014

Great place to wander and chat. At weekends it is obviously full of Spanish families out together having fun on all the free exercise facilities. Do watch out for the dolphins, and go and find the sand sculptor, who seems to speak a boggling number of languages. His art is superb.

“Sunny Sunday promenade”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 January 2014

On a sunny Sunday walking along the promenade was just fab and at the end if you go past the huts you come to the port and theres a market every Sunday its beautifull. Theres a bit at the end which is all in bad condition from where they knocked down that hotel but the rest is loveley.

“great for a stroll”

Nice for a stroll and a meal on a terrace. Recommended in hot weather! Spain remains good value for money in comparison with France.
