Excellent hotel, very clean and comfortable.Big wide beds. Pool area and Spa superb. Buffet breakfast delicious.Go to the local village of Cancelada for eating and drinking, much cheaper and friendlier. This was our second visit.
The hotel was in its own little haven,it is such a shame that the beautiful coastline has been ruined and spoilt by unfinished blocks of apartments covering the hills and the sea front.

I hate to moan & always try to see the good side to everything. We stayed for 6 nights. On arrival I have to say the location was a HUGE disappointment, right next to busy main road, and beach was no where to be seen. It would take a very fit individual to walk there if they are brave enough to cross the main road.
The room was pleasant enough, though I have stayed in much nicer. It was spotlessly clean, and the bed linen appeared to be changed daily. The bed was generous and comfortable.
We had the B&B deal. The breakfast was the usual buffet, but as with most other hotels we have stayed in, there was no chef on hand rustling up hot fresh food. It was all quite tired and worryingly tepid. My pet hate is cold food and there are probably food hygiene issues around tepid food. Bizarrely there was brussel sprouts on offer several days, but not once was there a tomato to be seen. Strange with the abundance of tomatoes you see everywhere. I love fried eggs, so often chose that option, and everyday they were cold, and gone off solid, which seemed to upset my tummy.
I would say it is not ideal as a holiday hotel, more of a business venue. It has a no children policy, which I thought was a nice idea, however it really lacked atmosphere. I thought I would treat myself to Spa treatment. Very pricey, so gave that a miss. I found relaxing by the pool an impossibility with the constant drone of the traffic just a few short meters away. Holiday, no, business stay, yes, and then just a few days.

Room Tip: Difficult. Ours was 4th floor, and as far as I could see, every room looked out over the motorway!

I was visiting Gibraltar the following day and having spent the day at Ronda did not want to drive all the way back to Alhaurin El Grande.
$64.40 euro including a beautiful and superb buffet breakfast was too good to resist.
The room was spacious and the bathroom was modern and very clean, water pressure was fantastic.
Free Wi-Fi which was very quick, despite the size of the hotel.
Hotel parking, 8 euro, was extra and not necessary due to the large amount of street parking near the hotel.
The night staff were very obliging and the whole experience was great.

Pay the extra for the breakfast. It had everything. Great bathroom and nice balcony. Use the spa pool once, it's worth it. Would stay here again for up to a week. Short drive to Puerto Banus restaurants, shops

We have just returned after a three night stay. The hotel is very calm and peaceful. The hotel seemed understaffed, probably because it is early in the season. The staff we did meet were attentive and polite. Our room was very clean and modern. I had tried to book a treatment on the Monday but was told it was impossible so perhaps you should book well in advance. The hotel is out of the way but luckily we were collected by people we know who live in the area, otherwise we would definitely had needed to rent a car. The pool area is good. We ate two meals and the hotel and they were very good.

We pre-booked for 12 nights, which was probably a bit too long in this hotel. The stay didn't start well when the sat nav took us to a derelict overgrown plot. We asked several people where the hotel was but nobody seemed to recognise the name. We probably wasted about an hour trying to find the place. Disappointed that the hotel was on the wrong side of the A7 - not easy if you want to go to the beach.

When we arrived we had to ask for a change of room and the reception staff were really helpful, as all the staff were throughout the stay. Evening meal for the first two nights was a buffet arrangement which worked quite well but after that we had to use the restaurant. The menus were quite limited in choice and after five or six nights we were definitely bored of the food. Breakfasts were buffet throughout the stay with a reasonable choice but the three coffee machines were often out of order, at times all three were out of service - not good enough.

The room was okay - the main problem was the light on the balcony which remained on until 1.00 a.m. each night and it couldn't be turned off. This is a minor gripe but it did get annoying when your bed time is 11.00 p.m.

We used the Spa facilities at the hotel once (15 euros each) but it didn't really match the photos on the website, and we were time limited to 90 minutes. However, we were free to use the gym whenever we wanted!!! We weren't allowed to use a lot of the facilities (relaxation areas, heated stone beds, etc) unless we paid extra for treatments. This wasn't made clear when we booked.

The outdoor pool was a good size with plenty of room to relax, although the water isn't heated and it can be a shock when you first get in the pool. The jacuzzi wasn't available during our stay.

Overall I would say that the hotel is not suited for an extended holiday stay, it felt more like a business hotel.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the pool. If you want a sea view, book something on the fourth (top) floor.
