This is a cool, pleasant apartment in a great location. It's decorated in neutral colours and feels like a calm oasis from the bustling port outside.
Malaga is a great place to visit - there is lots to do and we really enjoyed our holiday there.
The apartment is on the first floor of a block. There is lift access and stairs. The living room feels spacious and has a large comfy sofa. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment, including a big fridge and freezer and a dishwasher, and there is a little outside area with a washing machine in a little shed and washing line. There is air-conditioning in the living room and all bedrooms.
The balcony is shaded in the afternoon - a perfect place to cool down with a book and an ice-cream, or just to watch the world go by.
The road outside is quite busy, especially when the cruise ships are in and a lot of coaches seem to go by - but it wasn't really that noticeable because we were a floor above the noise. There is absolutely no parking on the street outside (I think I saw one empty space in the whole week).
In the local area there is a supermarket a few minutes walk away which had everything we needed for breakfasts and the occasional lunch. It's an easy walk to the Muelle Uno area of the port which has a good selection of restaurants, plus activities for the children. a market during the day and a fantastic ice cream shop called Conicos (try the dark chocolate ice-cream).
The beach is just across the road. It's sandy but the sand feels quite sharp so beach shoes would help. It wasn't too busy - but it was only April.
It takes about 20 minutes to walk into town from the apartment. It's a pleasant walk along the port and then through the park which is shady. The number 14 bus stops just outside the yellow apartment block opposite and will take you to the edge of town for 1.30 euro each.
I would recommend arranging transport from the airport with Maria. Malaga airport is big and busy - quite daunting when you've just come off a flight. As you come out of arrivals you are faced by a crowd of tour guides and drivers and it is very busy. Maria kindly arranged a driver to collect us for 25 euros (a good deal looking at the on-line taxi quotes). There are buses and a train into town from the airport but they don't come close enough to the apartment if you've got luggage.
I thoroughly recommend this apartment for a holiday. It's in a great location and is cool, clean and spacious. We really enjoyed staying there.
Just to note - the property has an electric hob, microwave and toaster but no oven. You need to provide your own beach towels. Storage space in the 3rd bedroom is a bit limited. Staying with young children - there is no alarm to the doors to the balcony and they are easy to open. The small bathroom has a fiddly lock and my nine year old managed to get trapped for a short while, although he subsequently worked it out himself.
