We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Taberna el Piyayo, which was recommended to us by a colleague. The restaurant was full when we came in, but the waiters assured us it would only take a couple of minutes to give us a table, which was correct.
We ordered the baby red mullet, king prawn skewer and the roasted red pepper salad. Everything tasted great and the quantities were just right. For dessert we had a chocolate cake and crema catalan which was really nice. Add two glasses of white wine and two pepsi's and we had a great lunch for 30 euro.
Service was friendly, athmosphere was nice. A little noisy maybe but the restaurant was really packed when we came in.
Would go back!

We chanced on this tapas bar/restaurant and had a quick lunch -the fantastic Malaguena salad containing oranges, potatoes, spring onion and flaked cod. We liked the place and the service so much that we returned on our last night for the local speciality of Fritura Malaguena, a selection of seafood in a light batter with lemon. We were delighted to be given a voucher for this dish plus a bottle of wine for €16.50; what a bargain! The décor, food and other diners were Spanish so it was the real deal, right in the heart of the centro historico (Calle Granada). Do go here if you are in Malaga!

Just stopped by for a light lunch, mixed seafood and roast pepper salad as recommended by our waiter was spot on! Throw in a bottle of wine and €20 for lunch is a great deal!

We wandered and found this lovely tapas bar. We asked for a recommendation from the fish tapas and had the calamari and the whitebait with lemon - both were gorgeous. The house Rioja also was quality. Then around 10pm we were treated to music from about 8 men with guitars and ukulele :-). Great night out and well recommended.

The best gambas al pil pil that I had in Malaga city centre. Very good atmosphere delicious food and very good value for money. The service however can be improved.
