I stayed here for two nights at the start of my time living and studying in Spain. It was pleasant enough but hard to get to by taxi. The entrance to the hotel is quite well hidden and there is a lively bar underneath the hotel.
The room was quite big and the bed was very comfortable with a great view of the sea. The air con was great and the location was very good, the area, Pedregalejo, was good, with lots of lovely cafés and bars. The beach is a minute walk from your hotel room, also an excellent attribute. Very friendly staff too.
The only downsides were the toniest shower cubicle in the world and the bar you have to walk through to get to the hotel reception.
I would definitely return to this hotel.

I stayed at the hotel last weekend, the location was just perfect, right on the beach and the restaurant seems to be very popular. Rooms are very standard and clean. Bike are available for hire as well and the staff is very helpful. I recommend it to anyone.

We have just returned from a long weekend in Malaga and we couldn't fault the hotel. The location is fantastic right on the beach. Nothing is too much for the staff. The bar/restaurant was busy, mainly with locals. I would recommend you brushing up on your spanish before going. The bar speialises in Gin and there is about 40 on the list.
We asked to keep a room on for our departure day but the hotel was full. Instead they gave us an apartment round the corner. The very very helpful, even brining a hairdryer over for us!
The hot tub is a must as are the bikes you can hire. Had a great time and would recommend to anyone.

We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights at hotel La Chancla and absolutely LOVED it. The staff are wonderful, the room is kept very clean and the location is perfect. There are many bars and restaurants in walking distance and Malaga a short bus or cab ride away. We will definately be going back again many times! Jen and Darla

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room, it is a bit noisy till the bar closes at 1 am but you can hear the sea while you sleep which is wonderful.

The place is FILTHY! We stayed there twice. Once at the beginning of our vacation for two days then again for one day at the end of our vacation. First time room was ok, cheap, again, decent food in bar/restaurant downstairs. On the first trip, our room was very basic but ok. Downstairs was a mess but we chalked it up to "its their style". Popcorn all over the floors etc. Toilets downstairs were dirty, one had a missing seat (there are only two) and it was impossible to determine which was the mens or womens room. After a month we came back for a night. The room we had was number 17 I think... Gross. Bathroom wasnt clean, shabby everything. Downstairs? After ONE MONTH still no toilet seat and dirty? Impossible to describe. If the heath department came in the place would be closed. This place has a great view and is pretty funky and cool. That being said, when funky becomes discusting it is time to find another hotel.

Room Tip: Ocean view, the rooms in the back are really shabby.
