“Quaint little guest house”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2014 via mobile

Had a very enjoyable visit at the Malaga Lodge, just before Christmas.
Maria was great in providing directions prior to the visit and made arrangements to ensure I could get into the house due to a late arrival. The accommodation itself is basic but very traditional and well presented. Did notice a couple of areas which had been missed during cleaning and decorating but nothing major or offputting. While I was there, fruit was not provided as is specified but this wasn't an issue. I spent a little bit of time in the lovely kitchen area and swapped travel tips with other guests which was lovely.
I really liked Malaga Lodge and would consider staying again but it's perhaps a little too far from the centre for a longer stay.

I just loved the harmony in the whole house. Apart from is beautiful, very practical. WiFi in rooms and heating which is operating. Explanation about the house rules clear and simple. It is in the heart of Malaga however there is free parking place. Everything is very close. I have lovely memories from there. Thank you Maria

Homey and cozy! Very close to the city centre (5 minute walk to Plaza de la Merced). The lodger is super nice and helpful, the common areas are nice and clean and so is the room. You have the freedom to come and go as you please and also have a kitchen if you want to cook something for yourself. Also, it is not too expensive, you get the best value for your money!

I was a bit in sure because of the share bathroom, but no problems as it was always spotless and only shares by two other rooms. Maria made us very welcome and show us how the kitchen operated. Basic breakfast is provided, plus all you need if you want to cook a meal, with a supermarket nearby. Our room was on the third floor but bed was great, with french Windows plus shutters and curtains to keep out the sun and streetlight. The street is quiet but close to the church, restaurants and a lovely garden. About a 10 minute walk to the old town, but there is a bus, the C1 that goes past to take you in. We enjoyed our two day stay here very much.

Room Tip: If you don't like stairs, ask for the first or second floors. Noticed there was a larger room so...

Malaga Lodge was perfect for our needs, my sister and I travelled together and wanted to be close enough to the action whilst maintaining a quiet, safe place to return to at night. The lodge is situated in what seems a nice part of town, it's on an idyllic lane running next to a huge church (don't worry the bells don't chime all night). The locals are mainly Spanish and you're well off the tourist drag. It's an easy 10 minute walk to the main centre for restaurants and the La Alcazaba and Castillo Gibralfaro (must see). The beach is a further distance, but hey, you're on holidays, time is on your side plus got legs, know how to use them. I'd say it's about 20 mins to the beach direct but it's hard not to get distracted by the delightful marble lined lanes. What ultimately won us over with Malaga Lodge was our hostess, she was helpful, polite and accommodating. Maria keeps a pristine property with some thoughtful complimentary services. Kitchen stocked with the basics like tea, coffee and cereal to get you started. Fast internet and free towels for the beach. Maria is also just lovely... There was a surmountable language barrier and we worked it all out through gesture and word throwing. Highly recommend this Lodge if you want a homely environment, and prioritise cleanliness and peaceful nights. Thank you!

Had a fantastic 2 night stay here in August. Arrived and were greated by a lovely house keeper who showed us around the hostel. Each room is clean and nicely decorated. Kitchen is great - all the utensils you might need, condiments and breakfast stuff available. Rooms clean and cool. Internet access is wireless and fast. Walk to supermarket is less than 5 mins, into the town to see the Alkazaba etc is about 5-10mins and beach etc about 20. All in all, a lovely, peaceful stay, thank you!
